As good President maybe, as good as the cons claim no

Ever notice the difference in giving to Reagan or Obama? The cons claim that Obama doesn't deserve any credit for killing bin Laden because he wasn't the one that pulled the trigger but they give Reagan full credit for the Iranian hostages being released as if he whipped out his cell phone after being sworn in and said "Let my people go"

Killing Obama was a painstaking search that took years. It took no leadership from Obama, it just happened when he was "present". OTOH, it took Reagans force of character to turn things around with the hostages.

Default Was Ronald Reagan a good president?

I voted for Reagan both times and felt that overall he did well.

Both deserve a public eh uh.................................pat on the backt. I'd tie a blind fold over their eyes give em a cigarette and thank Reagan for STAR-WARS, tripling the national debt, raising taxes on the middle class while lowering it on the rich, cutting and running in Beirut, wagging the dog in Grenada.

Then I would roundly thank ol billy Boy for NAFTA CAFTA and GAT. Plus getting caught with his pants down and giving momentum to the repugs who gave us GWB.

Neither Reagan or CLinton can hold a candle to true patriots like FDR, Eisenhower, Teddy Roosevelt and Truman.

Funny, those are some of the people most responsible for the progressive machine that started consuming resources and bringing home all the goodies from overseas.

If they could only see what those policies have done to us now. Instead of investing in other countries we just overthrow them and take their resources so you can have your Social Insecurity, Mediscare, and all the other freebies you've voted yourself that other people had to die for.

I know of no one who gives Reagan the credit for freeing the Iranian hostages. However, there is absolutely no doubt that the Iranian hostages were released on the same day Reagan was inaugurated President because the Iranians feared Reagan's reaction. Ronald Reagan was no Jimmy Carter, and the Iranians holding the hostages knew this. By releasing the hostages on the very day a new President is sworn into office, the Iranians were deliberately denying Carter any hint of claiming victory by achieving their release.
