T.E.A.

Taxed Enough Already.

I seriously doubt that any person who believes in small government believes that you were not being taxed enough.

See, your post is a great example of the thinking I was complaining about in my post immediately above this one.

I was working full time at minimum freaking wage and I paid several hundred dollars in federal income tax.

If that's not enough for you, how much tax should I pay?

Yeah, sorry.

All of my friends, those working class folks who voted Republican in the last election, are agnostic or Pagan like me--not so much an ideological split between variegated family values candidates there--just people who are sick and tired of being led by spendthrift, socialistic fools.

You start by commiting yourself to being the best at what you can do and then with that faith in yourself just a small add in the local paper and the word of mouth work will come your way.I tried it 30 years ago when the Carpenters union abandonded us and left town. been doing great ever since even though they stole all my retirement pay that employers payed into on my behalf. screw the unions I am a free man.beat that wage slave to scared to try looser. 240$ a day rite now and feeling good after 2 bad winters where I came close to loosing my house. Heck anybody can do it but most dont have the guts and blame thier problems on those that do. thats the way it is.It aint my fault I rock at what I do

Wage slave. Grow up. Keep your trash mouth out in the street gutter where it belongs.

Some people haven't a clue.

You obviously aren't aware more businesses were started in 2009, one of the worst economic years in history :

This is the same here. We have family members (in their 20s I will add) who are agnostic and are very politically conservative. He is making no sense what-s0-ever.

You whine and cry for a "progressive" tax structure and when it is applied you whine and cry some more.

if you want us to feel sorry for you, you need to post some details, wages, deductions taxes paid, etc.

Childless adults get little out of the Bush tax cuts, and a childless burger flipper working full time at minimum wage pays more tax than many families making a lot more.
that depends on the size of the family: yes, a family with 2 or 3 kids, making $50,000 and with a home probably doesn't pay more than the guy flipping burgers, but most burger flippers, as you put it, are not the sole support of anyone. They are teens, college kids, guys and gals working a second job, whatever. Have you ever thought about having cheese with your contant whine?

Let me tell you how: our daughter and husband were living the good life, no kids, nice home, in their 30s, and no problems. This was about 12 years ago: suddenly he lost his job and went from executive to unemployment. They took a couple of months to decide what they wanted to do with their live, he remembered being in college and having a particular summer job he loved. So, he found a job (min wage) in that field, worked his ass off, learned the business and 6 months later started his own business. Now, they are living the life they want, they have about a dozen trucks and employees, and he spends as much time golfing as working. Was it easy? Absolutely not. There were times when they didn't know where the next meal was coming from and have they been hit my the reccession? Somewhat yes, not badly I will add. Our son has done something similar, but not quite as successful. It takes knowledge and being good at what you do, plus a lot of really hard work and very little crying or feeling sorry for yourself. It can be done.
