Here is Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

To the liberals / progressives, communists / socialists / secular humanists etc. here, is there any need for which the government should not be the sole source provider?

Just seeking clarification.

But there are people who for various reasons have more opportunity than others to partner. Should not the government take the excess of their supply and redistribute it to those 'less fortunate' in this area? That's only fair right? Sharing the wealth as it were. That would make everyone equal. Isn't that the goal of government: everyone with the same opportunities and same outcome?

The government should not provide military force to satisfy some egotists' lame attempts at remaking other countries in America's image.

How about subsidies. I can't see why our government borrows money to give it away. I am against the government giving subsidies

Yes. There are many "needs," if we are using Maslow's incredibly outdated hierarchy, which the government cannot be expected to provide. Obviously everything within the categories of self-actualization, esteem, and love/belonging cannot be solely provided, as you so obtusely put it, by the government or any other institutional entity.

I think most people would expect the government to provide the things under the category of "safety," except for the nebulous "morality".

$10 is $10. They all look the same. The govt. provided sex partners would be unconstitutional. The govt. outlawed slavery with 13th Amendment.

I would be in favor of govt. blow up dolls for people like the Bachmann's in an effort that they not reproduce. However, may need to get Mr. Bachmann a male blowup doll.

Would you say something that bad about the wife of Cass Sunstein? You do know that she convinced TheWon that he should take part in the Libyan thing, don't you?
