Here ya go folks. Do your part to reduce debt.
A bill to modify your W-4 form for extra money to be withheld from your wages that will go to reduce the public debt.

Work and hand it all over to Uncle Sam to reduce the debt.
Voluntary of course.

Read The Bill: H.R. 2411 - GovTrack.us

"To provide for an employee election on Form W-4 to have amounts deducted and withheld from wages to be used to reduce the public debt."

If this is ever signed into law it will be interesting to see how many members of Congress make the election and for how much. Frankly for them it should be mandatory and for their full salary!

Election? Voluntary? I am sure people will jump at the opportunity to reduce the debt with their own money. I think Republicans need to lead by example in this election, since they are most concerned about it.

I have a better idea. start cutting alot of useless goverment departments and save money from the budget that way, also fire all those feeral workers at the same time.

the feds could start by eliminating the department of education, dept. of energy, the epa, the batf, the dept. of homeland security, the tsa and manymany other useless departments.

I thought this was a stupid liberal idea and it's sponsored by a bunch of conservatives.

What a stupid idea, people making over $100K sponsoring a bill asking burger flippers to voluntarily fork over more money to pay down the national debt.

That's supremely Out Of Touch if you ask me.

This is great!!!

Now all those liberals aka progressives have absolutely no excuse not to pay more taxes to lower the debt since they think there has to be more taxes.

Have at it liberals!!!

More taxes or else we have to cut the spending. I'm for cutting spending. I'd like to start with all welfare kinds of handouts for the able bodied types. Those who are young, healthy, capable of doing some kind of work including farm work. It's time they get off their welfare duffs and get out working and paying their share of this debt also.

I think it is hillarious. Those who want higher taxes can put their money where their mouth is and have it directly applied by their W-4! Now I guess we will see if any of that fictitious "majority of Americans want higher taxes" are actually taxpayers.

Why would anyone voluntarily hand over money to a govt that has sent jobs overseas, spent money they don't have on endless wars, and has bailed out banksters and buddies on your back?
