Many of the news accounts I've seen refer to "inner city youths" being responsible for the flash mobs. Wonder how many government funded cell phones are being used to organize these? Or how many of these families have a government funded cell phone and are paying for a phone for their teen?
Are tax payers paying to help these teens organize to go out and steal from us? And beat us? In a flash mob of just one store, over $85,000 was stolen. How many of these cell phones has that store owner subsidized through his taxes?
Wonder how many of these teens have full bellies from food stamps while they commit their crimes? Or take their stolen loot back to government funded housing?
I'm completely fine with social safety nets. Not so much cell phones, but food, housing etc., when truly needed. But people receiving these safety nets should not be terrorizing their communities. They should not be stealing from the people who provide those entitlements.
If the youths commiting these crimes are on government funding, I hope the US will follow the lead of the UK and cut those families off.
