What, exactly, has he "picked up"? Things aren't getting better. Perhaps he should pick up the pace?
Let's be fair here. He may not have us on a fast track to recovery, but can you at least admit that he has us on a half-fast track?

Be careful how much weight you put on a source that is proven to have a political agenda of its own.

And I am sorry, but how can I trust any graph that calls the economic downturn a 'legacy of Bush policies'? Claiming that the downturn occurred due to any Bush policies is nothing short of ignorance.
Feel free to go through the charts or the source data and point out why they're wrong.

Did you read the article I referenced?

I would think you would trust a harvard economist above myself, which is why I referenced that study.

Also, reference this report (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/usbudget/fy09/pdf/hist.pdf - broken link), which shows actual and projected budget estimates published by the government (the raw data - not manipulated graphs by a liberal think tank).

Look at fiscal outlays by agency on/off budget numbers (page 79 in particular) and you can see how Social Security contributes more off budget than all military actions combined (in 2013, SS will contribute $813,755,000 more to the national debt than all military action).

So Jack - there is the source data proving they are wrong, and there is the article explaining how that center manipulates numbers to prove a liberal agenda. Please read the numbers yourself before trusting a graph that a thinktank puts out solely for the purpose of winning over liberals who won't bother to actually look at the data.

I just don't understand the term "TAX CUT"

So when the government taking less, it is a tax cut?

Why should people who work hard get penalize just because they work hard?

I know I know, we live in USSA, and lazy is the way to go. Why work when the government can take care of you.

Amazing. Of course this "data" fails to discuss the nearly $1 trillion of the failed Obama "stimulus" as well as the 45% increase in federal spending during the Democratic Congress.

Libs are all about seeking blame for a situation and are short on solutions. The liberal solution- stick one's head in the sand and ignore the problem until chaos erupts. I opposed the Afghan and Iraq wars (I thought they were unnecessary). However, the senate and congress (democrats and republicans) approved them. Further, we had the financial insult of the democratic congress and Obama to deepen the debt markedly.

So what do we do?

Cut spending markedly and probably introduce a VAT tax.

The country could make huge gains just by not giving the wealthiest tax breaks...these people can afford to pay taxes. Why
should the rest of Americans suffer because the rich are
given priviledges ?

Excellent points. It is refreshing to see somebody attack a source and back it up. Kudos to you.

The ONLY thing that increases the deficit is SPENDING.

Tax cuts or no tax cuts, if you're not spending more than you're taking in, you have no deficit.

This crap is getting very, very old.
