I am sorry to hear about your wife. She is pretty classic a case for why pot should be available.

I am not a smoker, I dont believe pot should be legal like beer but it is a human rights violation in my opinion, that sick people do not have access to such a safe (by the relative standard or other available options), inexpensive and very useful drug.

It is a human rights violation.

I think it should be legal like beer. Anything else is a big fat waste of everything isn't it?

while I think there is some middle ground and I dont agree with you, if pushed to make a choice between current federal law, and absolutly no restrictions, I would go for no restrictions.

It is a crime that sick people dont have access to something that will in fact help them.

This is a common topic among a certain group of my friends. Seems the group is divided between proponents of more government control, those who share your sentiment in this post and those who feel the general public needs some protection from itself. I lean towards mre personal accountability, as opposed to government intervention, myself.

Since you're in California where it's legal for medicinal purposes perhaps I should come out there! The Browns do play the 49ers out there this year! If there even is a season.
I apologize if my post was a little too personal. All in good fun but you know...a bay area game would be a freaking blast.

Legalize it and punish those who abuse it to the fullest extent. As in driving while high (same treatment as DUI). Selling it to minors (just like alcohol) etc.

Leave the casual and responsible user alone!!!

Maybe it does, but the stoners are abusing the system. Go anywhere in Ca and spend around 10 minutes with a quack, whine about your trick ankle you twisted while skateboarding when you were 14, 1/2 hr later you're legally high.
You have nothing to complain about.

Nah. You aren't a stoner just becasue you smoke pot for non medical reasons. You arn't an alcoholic just becasue you have a drink either. I think what CA is proving is that people from literally all walks of life smoke pot and non of them deserve to be labled criminals for that reason.

Marinol, a prescription drug which is a synthetic form of thc. It is indicate for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, and Anorexia associated with aids. There are currently studies under way to determine it's use in pain management in conjunction with opiates. After many years on the market there is no evidence that it has much use as a pain reliever. Pharma would like there to be, the pain market is much larger than the indications it has.

You bet it is! There are doctors, lawyers, bankers, whathaveyou. Walk into a dispensary and while there will be some that look like stereotypical stoner types, there will also be senior citizens and other normal people there such as soccer moms and dads. Do work in someone's home and you will get an idea about how many people smoke weed (and have crazy porn) that they leave out for anyone and everyone to see.
