Sorry, but you've been quite mislead by these "statistics". I've looked into them before, as a gay man who, according to the "statistics", is extremely behind on my sexual encounters. One study I looked into studied male prostitutes. You'd pretty much have to be a man ***** to have that much sex. I've known plenty of gay men in my life and never known one who had that much sex. As you said, it's incomprehensible. Nobody has that kind of time.

I'll admit gay men have more sex than straight men, but that's because straight women aren't wired for sex they way men are. If women were just as willing as men, straight men as a group would have many more partners.

Some rather shocking statistics highlight the OP's claim rather clearly:

Bell and Weinberg study (1978) on homosexuality

- 83% had more than 50 sexual partners

- 43% had more than 500 sexual partners

- 28% had more than 1000 sexual partners

In the same study, these respondents also admitted:

- 79% said that over half of their partners were total strangers

- 70% said that over half of their partners were one time encounters

Many of these statistics were corroborated by another 1997 study published in the "Comparative Demographic and Sexual Profile of Older Homosexually Active Men", - Journal of Sex Research, which shows that HIV did little to alter these statistical behaviors. Facts are, there are dozens of studies that confirm these statistics throughout a 30 year period.

And these stats are off the chart ..... just do the math ..... in order to have had 1000 sex partners, a person would have to have sex with a new, different partner once a week, 50 weeks a year for 20 years.

Nothing remotely close to these figures is reflected in the heterosexual community. You literally have to select statistical data from those within the prostitution and the pornography industries to find numbers approaching and exceeding these figures.

It seems to me that this data supports the claim of "promiscuity", but of course, I suppose only "homophobes" would draw such conclusions.
Didnt Wilt Chamberlain admit to having sex with over 20,000 women? Thats a pretty good example from the straight community if I say so. And he admitted this so its not from some questionable 1970s study (which you should not use as evidence since nobody would take a 40 year old study seriously).

Sounds as if it's something you think quite a bit about, huh?

Well I for one understand the problem with witnessing lurid sexual activity. Just this morning I watched a video of what I thought was two girls with two guys. But the video's lighting was so poor that there actually was actually another girl in the scene. So it was 3-on-2. What's more, the sound track was so bad that when one of the girl's started talking dirty, her panting voice was too garbled to make out the exact words she was moaning. Truly irritating. But if that weren't enough, when one of the girls started using a whip, the cries of pain/esctacy coming from the guys sounded like cattle being violated, which, come to think of it, might have been happening in a nearby room where another video might have been filming.

So yeah, to your point, sex stuff can be aggravating.

It is absolutely true that there are no "absolutes", including gravity ... yet that doesn't preclude the legitimacy and truthfulness of generalizations, which of course, has also been "confused" to mean something negative, that should be automatically dismissed as a baseless act of stereotyping. And even stereotyping is a dirty word, rather than a legitimate observation that might be generally true, with obvious exceptions.

Most cars have bumpers is a generalization ... but because not all cars do, does that make the generalization illegitimate? Of course not.

On a personal note .... and this is purely anecdotal .... I've had the task on occasions to visit a particular bar for business purposes that is a well known gay bar in town .... of course those same business reasons cause me to visit numerous bars in town to which I can readily draw comparisons. And I can promise you that what I've personally witnessed going on inside that gay bar wouldn't be tolerated by the state ABC board even in a strip club zoned for that purpose ... let alone a regular nightclub or cocktail lounge. There is clearly a completely different set of rules applied to gay bars in this jurisdiction, and I believe this is pretty common around the country highlighted in other anecdotal accounts published.

By contrast, I know of one straight club who came up with a unique idea to attract patrons ... they had a a full sized picture window that was frosted to reveal only a silhouette image of a girl hired to dance in a bathing suite .... but the city shut them down based on the mere illusion of nudity.

As for the gay bar, I won't elaborate too much on the "details" other than to say that there was a very definitive "relaxed" dress code ... as in "optional clothing" that didn't just apply to shirts and shoes ..... to put it bluntly ... I have never witnessed more overt displays of varying degrees of nudity and sexual conduct in a public venue, which I would find off putting and offensively inappropriate in a heterosexual environment too. And it wasn't like I was actually focusing on this .... actually quite the opposite ... I was trying to get in and out of there as quickly as possible, with efforts made to defocus and blur the scene .... but it was impossible to ignore ... nothing short of a frenzied free-for-all of groping and grabbing and stripping which would be clear violations of the standards governing strip club "lap dancing" ... and that was in proximity to the front entrance of the bar .... I care not to even speculate as to what might have been going on in more obscure portions of the facility.

Those within the gay community who deny this as a common theme are just being deliberately dishonest.
And drunk straight people dont do crazy things at bars? Come on! Do you know how many topless women I have seen at bars? Sorry but when people are drunk, gay or straight, they tend to do stupid and inappropriate things.

It's called homophobia and gay is not contagious.

I don't understand how you can equate what some corrupt Prison chaplain got caught doing with the whole gay population....I mean heterosexuals have been caught doing some very cruel, sadistic things as well...are you apprehensive of them???..Your statement that "this is why many people have an apprehension of gays" tells me that you have an unreasonable, and skewed perception of what this unholy man was doing......it has NOTHING to do with being gay.

It said that 28% had more than 1000 partners? And we wonder why AID is so prevalent amongst gays, when it was first discovered back in the early 80s?

Well, now that bisexuality is so prevalent in our society too, AIDS is very prevalent amongst the straight community too, even women who have long-standing partners.
There's a book out about still in the closet black men, "on the Down Low", I think it's title is...
It talks about all these black guys who are secretly bisexual, but don't tell their women, many who have contracted aids, and such, and passed it on to their wives & girlfriends.

And they say that the cases of AIDS are higher in black women, than white women, I've read that anyway... well, if there's a ton of secretly bisexual black guys out there, that explains it, doesn't it?

Can you imagine being straight and having 1000 partners? I wonder how straight people have even had 100 or 200 partners? I bet not that many..... Unless you're a model or celebrity or famous musician....

Default So you're saying he got a blow job from a guy, just cuz he was horny, not gay?

ROTLOL... really, purehuman.. so many str8 guys, you'll telling us, will "resort" to getting BJs from guys, just cuz their horny, not that they are gay?

So... straight guys out there... how many of you wud secretly resort to getting a BJ from a guy, instead of a female, if you were really horny?

I'm thinking NOT many guys who are actually str8! But that's my guess...

while you want to claim that women are not "wired" to have as much sex as men.. women are the ones who can get pregnant when they have sex.. If women went out and screwed as many men as we wanted to.. we'd never know how the father of our babies were.

Being a woman and having sex, is a whole different ballgame, than being a guy and having sex. Also, women tend to get more VD from sex than men do... it's just the way we're made.
