You may be hoping and dreaming for that to happen but only a complete moron believes that's the outcome of this.
No? Their license is due up for renewal next year. If the scandal broadens out by then Fox could be off the air. They don't start FBI investigates over a whim. If they find proof of wrong doing, Murdoch's empire will be broken up. Even proving wrong doing in Britain can be legally be factored into the U.S. licensing decision, especially if foriegn officials were bribed.

Fox Television Stations, Inc.'s licenses (Including WWOR-TV) are up for renewal next year. By then, the FBI should have figured out whether hacking occurred in the United States. But the truth is, we don't need an FBI investigation to determine whether Murdoch qualifies to hold a government-issued broadcast license for the public airwaves. Rupert Murdoch's admission of wrongdoing via this week's apology is proof of bad "character." Now its time to see if the FCC has the guts to hold News Corp and Fox up to the same standard as General Tire and RKO.
I'd rather watch news that criticizes government than watch one that's like 1984's Minitrue, like an extended arm of the government, like what CNBC, CNN and the rest behave like at times
Fox News acted just like that "extended arm of the government" you despise during Bush's entire time in office..

Then all the American public will have left is MSNBC. That sounds terrific.
Not really. His empire would just get broken up and sold off. Truly, do you honestly think it's a good thing that one man and his son should control so many news sources world wide? The British government is already talking about breaking up his holdings over there.

That is after all the main goal of this entire situation, to eliminate anyone who doesn't promote the liberal agenda in the media. We should all worship Obama, watch MSNBC and consider people like Maddow to be real journalist.
If you liberal idiots get Fox News kicked off the air what are you going to watch?

Wouldn't break my heart if FOX News bit the dust, and sucked MSNBC down the drain with it. I am tired of turning on the news and seeing some smirking smart azz (Hannity or Maddow) talking at me.
With News Corp being the parent corporation of Fox news how badly would Fox news be damaged if it is proven News Corp phone hacked the families of 9/11 victims families ?
With both sides of the political debate putting the boot into News Corp in the UK over hacking, would the same happen in the USA or are conservatives in the US forgiving about that type of behavior by News Corp ?
One would think that it would (indeed should) have an impact on the viewers of Fox News. Unfortunately, though, I think a lot of people watch Fox because it's what they want to hear, so I'm not sure it will have an impact.
