Successfully changing sexual preference through therapy is clearly the greatest threat the "born gay" crowd face. This sort of harassment will happen again and again.
Actually, only scientific facts would be a threat to the "born gay" theory, and considering most of the scientific world and the evidence suggests that sexuality is set before puberty and most likely is, at least in part, biological, there is no threat. This is not a threat to anyone but the sad individuals who hate themselves so much that they put their trust in religious kookery.

What the protesters did is wrong in my opinion and reinforces what some people think about gays.
Let's be honest, it only reinforces what YOU think about gays, which was already negative. Let's not use this as an excuse for your belief in blanket generalizations and acceptance of stereotypes. Your intellectual dishonest and lazy thinking are no one's fault but your own.
If you went to a medical doctor because you had the flu and he insisted of burning some feathers, waving them over you, mumbling a few words, telling you you chose to have the flu, and then charging you a fortune for his "cure", is the doctor being unethical and morally corrupt?
This is the equivalent of what Bachmann's "clinic" does with gay people.
Ethical therapists do not try to force their religious beliefs on clients.
Ethical therapists do not try to convince gay clients that they must have been sexually abused as a child or had a distant father and other such discredited nonsense just because the therapist needs to find some reason, even if it is complete unsupported BS, that a person is gay other than being innately homosexual.
Ethical therapists use evidence-based practice, not unsupported, disproven, ineffective, and potentially harmful quackery on people who do not even need to be "cured".
We already know the type of "therapy" that Bachmann's clinic uses is not only useless, but harmful. This clinic is morally corrupt if it is charging money for this so-called "therapy".

One must assume these people were in a state of distress, and held a negative self-image before embarking on this therapy, which continues to be research.
I am sure there are pedaphiles that sincerely want to change their attraction to children - wouldn't it be wonderful if we were able to accomplish such a task to help them? I will not condemn the efffort to do so.
Some believe spankings harm children. I think a spanking can be, and has been, an excellent way to correct misbehavior. Of course anything can be abused, but that does not correlate to all spanking being child abuse imo.

A hetero can be attracted to the same sex, but have enough self-discipline or moral principle not to act on that urge. Lust and gluttony are not virtues to act upon just to satisfy a physical impulse, we have big brains for a purpose.

Wrong. A heterosexual that is romantically, emotionally, and/or sexually attracted to the same-sex and the opposite, would be bi-sexual, not hetero.
Sexual orientation has nothing to do withself-discipline or morality. There are many celibate gay people in the world and a large percentage of gays have probably tried sex with the opposite sex.
Of course, according to your criteria, 90% of all heterosexuals have no self-discipline or moral principles, no doubt including you.

I don't support the premise of the Bachmann clinic but I certainly do not support the childish behavior displayed by those who invaded the clinic and vandalized it. Had Bachmann supporters done so much as waited outside a GLBT book store and passed out pamphlets encouraging gays to visit the Bachmann clinic for help, the outrage from the entire GLBT population and their liberal supporters would have staggered the imagination and the inevitable protest thread in this forum would generate 500+ angry responses.
