on Monday morning?

I'm guessing between 10% and 15% of my portfolio maybe 20% will be POOF and my business will hit a flat spot!

Come to the table GOP... show you can negotiate not just say NO NO NO NO !

It was Harry Reid and the Democrats that said no to the House passed bill for Cut, Cap & Balance. They refused to even put it to a discussion to amend it but tabled it instead! Did you conveniently forget the truth?

This has been coming for months, if not years. Obama and the D's have done nothing but kick that can down the road. Well, here we are at the big intersection and the D's don't want to stop. Too bad, you're a deer in the headlights and the D's have froze up.

If you lose then you've just been following your leader.

But if you can grab a repo down the street for some quick cash it'll be worth more to you in five to ten years than that IRA will be by time you retire.

And the downgrade isn't coming because the U.S. can't pay its bills... it's coming because the U.S. hasn't gotten its spending habits under control.

Eventually you are going to lose anyway, have you looked what you are up against.
inflation/usd losing purchasing power
the stock market is now a casino
a hungry gvt looking for revenue
your portfolio is over valued due to money printing and bail outs
there is talk of gvt getting involved in 401k's [someone has to buy the debt}

I think you right about next week you will take a hit and won't be the last.

Seems they had a deal, obama reneged, which is not surprising since he has no integrity and one definitely cannot trust the liar.

I don't actually put the whole blame on Boehner. He is caught between a rock and a hard place with the Democrats/White House on one side and the House freshman zealots on the other. It doesn't give him much wiggle room to work with.

We lose no matter what they do. Do you think the debt is going to disappear magically overnight because they've signed a half-assed, barely puts a dent in the deficit bill ? And if they don't sign do you think we're better off with a $2.5 trillion raise in the ceiling (what Obama wants) ?

Get a grip. None of them in DC are making the HARD cuts we need. We are $1+ trillion OVER what we spend per year. Do any of you think shaving $300 billion will make a difference ?
