Well of course. Heck sadaam was a saint to these defenders of America's enemies.

Christians are being harassed, discriminated against and even persecuted in many Muslim-majority nations. It is a very disturbing trend.

As a non-Christian I do hope that Christians here in the US and abroad raise their collective and protest these injustices with a bit more vigor!

Well, chatty, no offense but that is not exactly true.

Christian anti-semitism and persecution of the Jews continued right up until the present century. Are you not aware of the "blood libel" massacres against Jews, the Pogroms in the Russian Empire and Eastern Europe in the 19th Century and early 20th Century, even the Holocaust where 6,000,000 innocent Jews (and millions of others including Gypsies, Gays, the Handicapped, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.) was perpetrated by people who called themselves "Christian."

For example, google "Kishinev Massacre."

Better yet read the book by former Roman Catholic priest James Carroll "Constantine's Sword" .

You forgot to mention all the Christians who died in the holocaust. Going to church does not make one a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes one a car. The Pope condemned retaliation on the Jews.

You do know, don't you, that the Crusades were in response to frequent Muslim invasions of Europe? The Iraq war is in response to Muslim intolerance of other religions, carried out through various jihad operations, such as 9/11?

Yes, but a far greater percentage of religious intolerance happens against Xtians and Jews from Islam. Can you tell us how many jews are left in Afganistan? Roughly? How about Saudi Arabia? Hmmm?

And this is why the crusades were fought----to stop the slaughter of thousands of Christians just for existing.
Please don't re-write history for the nine crusades. But in the first crusade christians entered villages and pillaged them and massacred the civilian populations.
