A budget ensures we have enough money to run the government, there was no budget passed or signed by the democrats in 2010, hence no way to ensure we did not run into the exact situation we face today.

0bama blew up the federal budget by adding over $800 billion to it each year, as if every year must now include the one-time stimulus. You really need to step back and analyze what you are saying.
I'll just wait for you to show me where you wrote in to your president back in 2003-2008 objecting to his decision to conduct two wars without putting them into the budget or either raising taxes or cutting other spending to pay for them.

Until then, nothing you have to say really amounts to anything.

0bama and Reid may as well have pulled a pin on a grenade, and tossed it into the US economy, knowing it would detonate right about now. So why did he? Why blow up the economy? For some warped idea of a political gain?
Debt ceiling crisis?? The only reason why we have a debt ceiling crisis is the Republicans are refusing to do what every other Congress has done and that was done many times under Bush and yes the hero of the right Reagan (who raised the debt ceiling more than a dozen times) and that is raise the debt ceiling on its own.

You do realize that every single President has raised the debt ceiling, and Reagan did it more than anyone else. Raising the debt ceiling has little to do with not passing a budget last year. Reagan and Bush increased the debt ceiling many times and the budget was passed the year prior.

Ah, how soon they forget about the Republican superminority in the United States Senate in 2010, when they quite successfully used the filibuster to block nearly all legislation.

As I recall, Senator Reid finally had to call a special session of the Senate after Christmas in order to get any legislation passed. Those poor Republicans were forced to work over their Christmas holiday - when they could have been done with all of it in July.

Too bad Reid was not the senate leader in 2010, and too bad the democrats did not control the congress and the presidency in 2010 either. This way he could have passed a federal budget for fiscal year 2011, and averted the debt ceiling crisis we have now.

Instead of passing a budget, Reid is having to struggle with the extremists in Washington, poor Harry.

This is a valid question of Democrats, and where I find blame with them in this whole mess.

They knew in November of 2010 that this was coming, and did nothing to avert it, knowing that TEA party folks would hold the nation hostage.

Now it could be said they were playing a political game to make Republicans look foolish as they did in the 90's with the government shut down. However, thats not good for the country either.

This we agree on, Democrats are to blame for this mess also.

I think many people thought the tea party folks would do crazy things, I don't think anyone expected them to stoop to such levels as blocking the most basic of things such as raising the debt ceiling that their hero did so many times.
