The Speaker did his job. Let's see the obstructionist left-wing kooks kill the bill.

This bill gives cover to Republicans in their election next year.

It'll be something like this

"Yes, I voted to extend the debt ceiling without the spending cuts we wanted, but before I did I passed the CC&B bill. But to avoid default and destroying the economy, which the President was holding us hostage by, we had to pass an increase"

All just a cover vote.

The speakers job is to put forward a bill that can get through the Senate and past the White House.

This bill was political cover for the 2012 election.

Credit? For what?
I thought the world was ending
if the debt ceiling wasn't raised.

The real answer, no one knows for sure.

Who wants to risk it though?

- Ronald Reagan 1987

I've been pretty impressed with Boehner thus far. Obviously, I don't like his politics but I do like him. I get the impression that Obama and Boehner actually work well together. He's being held hostage by the Tea Party. This is the real issue.

GOP, you better make your tent bigger to stay relevant. When Reagan was in office, it used to be the other way around.
