They say that aristocrats in societies have always had different long term goals.
Democracy is supposed to monitor the government and that isn't happening very effectively anymore-(that is for sure).
He's right Corporatism is taking over the world.
Corporations now have more influence on global events than governments.
The United States government no longer has the power to stimulate the economy can create job growth because the largest banks and corporations in this world now can now get money from the FED at 0.25% and invest it in financial markets and emerging market economies at far higher rates of return than they can here in America to create jobs. The reason there are no jobs is that corporations would much rather hire low wage workers in emerging market companies than higher American workers. It's just that simple. And since corporations are making record profits doing this they really have no motivation to change.
The largest corporations in the world collectively now have more money than the laregest governments in the world. The United States Government is now a wholely owned subidary of big business. Don't think so? Look what happened at the height of the financial crisis in 2008. The largest banks and financial institutions in the country basically came to the American government and said:
"Hey we got a problem here. We made some REALLY bad decisions with mortgage backed securities and credit default swaps. Now YOU and the American people are going to loan us $800 BILLION DOLLARS or the entiire economy is going down the sh*tter. And what did the United States government do? They caved in.
America is now a plutocracy run by the rich for the rich. If you don't go the rights schools, or make above a certain income level you are bascially S.O.L.
