They don't have to wait until you open the door. They can just bust it down, with or without a warrant.

I've had three direct contacts in unprovoked incidents involving violence by police in my lifetime. I was the recipient of two, my pastor was beat in the other.

I've also had two incidents of the most shoddy police work in my lifetime.

Every other contact I have had have been fine.
My rights mean a great deal, one of which is my right to remain silent.

Well you seem to be mixing and matching different incidents. In the case of the homeless man we seem to be in agreement.

However, I'm not the one making blanket statements about all incidents and that is where we seem to disagree.

Um yeah, they were fighting out front and when the cops showed up they tried to quick run in the house, the door wasn't even closed.

You start trouble in PUBLIC you've rather forfeited some assumption to privacy.

Maybe you should read the initial link.

^^^My buddy is a VERY good attorney and does lots of criminal defense work all the way up to and including some work for a serial killer most of you have probably heard of.

His top 10 advice when being arrested or even questioned is....

1) remain silent, ask for a lawyer.
#2-10 repeat #1.

Yes....and that is completely constitutional under certain circumstances.

I just accept that everything involving humans is going to be flawed. There is no "epidemic," there is simply humanity at work - good and bad.

Like I said, over 800,000 cops in this country, of course there is going to be misconduct, only an extremely naive person would actually believe that any facet of society can be scrubbed of misconduct.

But, by all means, I'm sure whining on the internet some more will definitely make a difference.

Damn gestapo thugs! Harrumph... oOoooooh, prisonplanet.com has a new article on FEMA concentration camps!
I pray nothing like this happens to you or your children. Then we'll see who "whines" on the Internet about your plight.
