This whole issue of nurses and technicians, and of course, the cleaning staff which we (I am an RN) are most closely related to in the health care hierarchy, according to many, is off topic, but. . .

There are many jobs out there where nurses work independently of physicians.

The Medicare program also funds residency training programs for the vast majority of physicians in the United States.

Perhaps a "give-back" would be appropriate.
Many doctors do "give back".

A gift is not forced.

If their education was funded by Medicare, which it is for the vast majority, a case could well be made for a requirement.

Of course, I'm just a glorified cleaning lady, so what would I know.

What a steaming shovel of horse manure!!!!!

What conservatives want is less government interference in private businesses, and let market forces work.

What you liberals want is a free ride at someone elses' expense.

Let me enlighten you...

I wish to procure your services for 1K

You say "no, my time is worth more"

I have two choices: I can find someone who might agree to 1K (perhaps lower quality work?), or I can offer more if I research and find out that 1K was indeed too low.

Is this concept really so hard to understand?

That depends if their education being funded by Medicare was obligatory or not.

Absolutely Katiana but while healthcare is treated as a "luxury item" here in the USA .... Doctors will feel they are better than "glorified cleaning ladies" which they aren't. LOL

Please allow me to clue you in.

EVERY labor has a set value, whether it is a floor sweeper or a brain surgeon.

For instance, the value of the labor of a pizza delivery is about $2, regardless of the price of gas.

If someone is requiring to be "grossly overpaid", they will soon find themselves out of business.

Got it?

I personally don't think it will happen, at least at a sustained level. Too many would leave the profession or not enter. Some might even have the balls to run very private under-the-table practices. I would give such a law 5 years at most before it was rescinded.
