agreed....we will be out of Iraq in 150 days and then "mission accomplished" will really take place....Afghanistan is a vast wasteland...no telling how longer we will be in that rat trap, but hopefully we will start drawing down our troops before July 2012, and get all the way out before July 2014
Yup and when we do draw down, those on the right who call the President a war monger will then turn around and say he did not send enough of our nations treasure there.

Are those EARTH days or the sort of days they are using to count down the closing of guantanamo?
At least 1,019 U.S. troops have died in and around Afghanistan since President Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009, according to CNSNews.com’s count, which runs through July 31, 2011.
Those 1,019 deaths represent about 64 percent of the total 1,588 deaths that have occurred since Oct. 7, 2001, when U.S. forces began fighting in Afghanistan to oust the Taliban regime that was harboring al Qaeda. At least 32 U.S. soldiers died in Afghanistan last month.
So far this year, from January through the end of July, there have been at least 230 U.S. military deaths, 35 fewer then the tally from the same period last year.
The 497 American soldiers who died in Afghanistan in 2010 make that year the deadliest since the war started in October 2001.
When you actually fight the war that was put on hold to fight another casualties will rise, it s the nature of WAR, just in-case you were unaware how WARs work.

No. The Iraq war is a war of choice, it was fabricated. The Afgan war is what Bush should have pursued and Obama is doing what needs to be done. Democrats are not a peace party any more than Repubiicans are a party of war - you have hawks and doves in both.
The Afgan war is as much bullsh_t as the Iraq war.
The Afghan and Iraq wars are why I will never again vote for Obama.
I am ashamed of all the people that voted largely based upon ending these wars and getting troops home that have completely changed course because they are party slaves and not issue related.
Seriously, why not at least vote 3rd party out of protest for crap like this? It's what I did with Bush vs. Kerry....couldn't stand either.
Obama said that he would up the ante in Afganistan during the election so why is anyone surprised? He also said he would draw down Iraq and he is doing just that. he is doing exactly what he said he would do if elected.

Crap. I thought we were going to end these wars?
Guess it was just another lie.
