Unless the religion of all killed are represented, the cross should absolutley not be erected...it's really that simple. The WTC was not a religious institution as the memorial is not a religious institution, therefore, how is this cross representative of what the victims, their families and the rest of the nation endured if all are not included?
But in the US they erect them as a symbol of triumph. Muslims have a history of building Mosques, not to profess religion, but as symbols of conquering their enemies.
What and where they bomb has nothing to do with anything in reality. Simply because they bomb mosques (anywhere) doesn't balance the attack on 9-11.
I'd like to see 5000 terrorsists strap bombs on themselves, meet on a field in the wilderness and find out who's vest works best.
Grand suggestion but I am not sure they would take a chance on killing themselves and nothing but Muslims along with them.

It would be a symbol of the religion of the majority of the victims. You know that but won't admit it.

What an idiotic and obnoxious response. So the victims that were not Christian do not count? This is not a majority rules situation and if this cross is the only religious symbol erected at the site, it should be expediently removed. Which idiot thought that this was a good idea?

Did you read the article? Read it and then worry about what you say. 72% of the people who were polled manaed to want the cross. Maybe those rotten people asked those polled if they were atheists and then left them out. Most pros here would say that happened.
72% of the people don't understand the meaning of the cross is all I saw.

The non religious and irreligious are growing in numbers while the adherents of Christianity are shrinking. If, all of a sudden, non believers were the majority and they demanded all churches be shut down and torn down, you would passively agree and let it happen, right? After all, they are the majority.
Er no.. it's clearly a reminder of guilt - this poor innocent man brutally died because you're a sinner! You now owe him your life and 10% of your income

Instead of being jerks they should be universal and put all the popular religious symbols ...
