How did they arrive at 9.1% unemployment?

38,000 fewer people have jobs in July compared to June.
Adult population grows by +182,000.
Civilian labor force is redefined lower by (-193,000).

That allows the officially "unemployed" number to FALL by (-156,000). Those people didn't find jobs. They werre just simply defined out of existence by the B(L)S.

That in turn caused the official "unemployment rate" to fall from 9.2% to 9.1% even though population is up and the number of people working is down.

The Ministry of Truth has spoken!

Employment Situation Summary Table A. Household data, seasonally adjusted

This thread is an epic fail.

Default Shovel ready, Obama digs us deeper in debt

Obama's shovel ready project has consisted of him digging us deeper in debt.

Smoke and mirrors come to mind when Obamanomics is spoken. Using new and novel references for economc measurement and superlative laced rhetoric are consistent with the myth of Obama being the great orator and Obama the noble peace prize winner.

Obama has delivered rhetoric that only his mindless racist followers can believe.

Obama and the dems forced a debt ceiling increase and legislation that resulted in the exact same result as if they hadn't made the effort.

The downgrade proves the disasterous policies being forced down America's throats by the Dems is meant to destroy America's economy.

The dems had control of both house and failed to act!!!!!!!!! So who is trying to destroy the economy?

Sounds like the T-party was the only political element that had it right.

Tim Geitner Obama's irreplacable economic guru said 'welcome to the summer of recovery'. The tax cheat has been proven to be insanely wrong, again. No one has any faith on the words of Tim the tax cheat and his incompetent boss Obama.

I honestly wonder just how privileged some people are that they have a belief system that has them making posts like this.

I’ve got some news for you. The economy is in its death throws. Growing government, bad domestic and foreign polices the likes of supposed free/fair trade agreements that exploit shantytown foreign labor, and our huge and expansive global military spending, add nausea has our current economy poised to slip beneath the surface of the ocean. This didn’t just happen over night. It’s been ongoing since the 1950s. You must really be privileged to have your belief system because for the average American, jobs are down, and have been going down for a couple of decades now. The elite tell us that the economy’s recovering, but for the average American, it’s actually getting worse.

The common workingman has been losing out for decades. We’ve lost our good paying manufacturing jobs and then taken less pay in services only to lose job after job as the wealthy elite figured out more and more ways to send even the low paying service jobs overseas until we’re stuck with what we have now, 20 something % unemployment. Half the nation is under employed and one paycheck away from losing everything they have. Sure some may have lived beyond their means, but if the decent paying jobs had not left the country, and the cost of goods and services outstripped wage increases as well as the over inflation of home prices just so a few could make billions on the housing market, maybe the average Joe wouldn’t be in the mess he’s in today. It’s truly a shame that without the cooked books and millions of government workers, our economy would be 10x worse than what’s being reported now. The government, including teachers, do not create wealth. Taxing to later spend it by creating jobs is a drain on the economy. It does not create wealth. The private sector that takes raw materials and manufactures it into a durable good is what creates wealth, and buddy, I’ve watched 95% of those jobs leave this country since I was a kid.

New jobs being created… That’s a joke. Yea, let me go on down to the industrial park and get a job in a warehouse stacking boxes of Chinese made goods while I’m making 8 dollars an hour or one of the many fast food franchises that pay 7 dollars an hour. Then I can go buy a used car for 5,000 and let’s see, the average price of a home in my area is 100,000 dollars, which by the way is 64,000 dollars lower than my state’s average.

Republicans trying to undermined the economy, but the Democrats saved us… What a joke! To anybody that honestly believes that Democrats cause this or Republicans cause that, I’ve got some news for you, no law can be passed without bipartisan support. Hence, both parties got us into this mess! It’s just a dog and pony show orchestrated by the wealthy elite to keep most of the population believing that their vote counts and it’s not their faction of the government that’s responsible for our current mess, it’s the other party’s fault. The government that you’re championing is bought and paid for by the wealthy elite.

Wake up, stop spreading their lies, and stop believing the propaganda they push!

Oh yea, those shovel ready jobs and manufacturing jobs are really rolling.

In my old home town, we lost 12 factories and thousands of permanent job losses on Obamas watch.

The town thrived during Bush and is a ghost town under Obama.

Those expensive shovel ready signs are all over the roads and not a soul working anywhere near them.

We are in a recovery? What?

23 months of record FORECLOSURES
18 months of record personal bankruptcies
Stock market crashing.
Health care cost rising over and over again.

Oh yea, recovery is here.

The left is scared and they are making up things as they go.

Remember the demwits had total control of America for more then 2 years. ZERO accomplishments to show for it.

They FAILED to produce a budget which cost us millions.

They spend record dollars with nothing to show for it.

Anyone else find it more than a little sad that the people in charge of the country and running the Democrat party are utter morons like Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Biden? At least McConnell and Boehner appear to have IQs over 90.

Oh my gosh gag me, the lesser of the two evils, aren't we a lucky bunch.

When it comes to having a PHD in job-killing, Obama is far and away in a class by himself as the worst ever.

Default NY Times headline proclaims, Obama saves the world!

In our last episode of Obama comics, Barack saved the world from capitalism and speckled puppies from the dinner plates of conservative republicans.

Obama, super hero, able to fight truth, justice and the American way with split infinitives, compound sentences, mispronounced words and meaningless rhetoric between rounds of golf and visits from union leaders.

Faster than passing unread legislation Obama has the Chinese army quaking in their boots as Iran begs for mercy.

Our caped crusader is slicker than a new teflon pan and can assign blame in a single bound.

Obama who has been bestowed with abilities far beyond those of mortal man by the news media, fights an ever ending battle for wealth redistribution, social justice and third world ways.

Back issues of how Obama earned the Nobel Peace Prize are still availbale for 5$.
