There are plenty of straight religous nuts who think that Homosexuality is some kind of "sin" and therefore clump Gays into the same category as pervs.
How stupid can any human being be to even think that a sexual bias is wrong and that Gay's would agree with perversion because they are gay..... absolutely moronic.
Geeoro, mostly I agree with you that homosexuality is not equivalent to pedophilia, however, there are homosexuals who ARE perverts - plenty of them - and they are not doing their group any favors by behaving this way. In SF particularly, they are often quite out in the open and no one says "boo" to them.
A photojournalist whose name escapes me had a blog in which he posted a variety of photos from events he visited for his work as a journalist, and one photo series that is vivid in my mind is of a homosexual male couple at a sadomasochist "convention" in SF and they had brought along their toddler twin girls, most likely born via a gestational surrogate. There were a ton of pictures of them "as a family" with mostly nude men all around in the background, wearing bits of leather and metal. Somehow I don't think it was staged . . . Anyway, as long as I see and read about these kinds of things, I am not going to pretend that all homosexuals are normal or have good judgment. Some are - many are not.

Some Homosexuals are pervs and some heterosexuals are pervs too.
No section of society are ever 100% OK or 100%% bad. Homosexuals are no different to heterosexuals except in how some percieve them.

That is absolutely disgusting. What's just as horrible is how he used religion to manipulate these kids to do what he wanted...I don't have words to describe how dispicable this is.

First of all, the ABC article got it wrong (as usual). This is not a group of Mormons. They are just as much Mormons as Baptists are Catholics. This is a splinter group cult of around 10,000 people who have not had anything to do with the 14 million strong Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. for close to 100 years. This is the largest of a handful of breakoff groups whose ancestors were excommunicated by the Mormon Church in the early 1900's for practicing polygamy. They really have absolutely nothing to do with the Mormon Church. Tiny though they might be, they are the biggest reason that the world at large still gets the idiot idea that Mormons practice polygamy -- which is false of course.
Now having said that ... Warren Jeffs is worse than what the article says:
While Jeffs was convicted for child sexual assault and for intercourse with a 15-year-old as well as aggravated sexual assault for intercourse with a 12-year-old, it gets even worse: During the sentencing phase his nephew testified to have been raped since he was 5 years old and his niece testified to have been raped since she was 7 years old. On August 9th, 2011, Jeffs was convicted on two counts of sexual assault of a child and sentenced to life in prison.
So we're it is a long, long ways from being about polygamy amongst consenting adults. We're talking about a man who has sodomized at least one 5 year old boy and molested at least one 7 year old girl.
