Perhaps you should read the media outlets, they are all reporting this has in fact happened.

Whether it has actually happened or not is almost irrelevant. The fact we are fighting to stave it off is a disgrace.

And it's not like we weren't warned repeatedly about this either.

Well, I am still young....but I fear for my 7 week old daughter. What kind of country is she going to be living in when she is older and she gets out in the world on her own?

I wonder where this country will be in 10, 20 years.

Stop it, this is the childish non sense that got us here to begin with. Italy was able to avoid default by offering a balanced budget agreement. Our politicians are unwilling to make the tough cuts. Forget tax increases, they are spit in the ocean compared to the problem we have.

We can only boot them all with a Constitutional Convention .. Write the Amendments in such a way that will never allow something like this to happen again ..

DAMN THEM
Our Constitution allows only Congress to call a Constitutional Convention and I just don't want to see that until I know that a strong minority of the convention will be progressives. Writing a new constitution at a time like this just is not going to work. I am pretty glad that only the Congress can call that convention you talk about.

Just look at Greece. They lived high off the hog and in denial until the money stopped flowing and no one would lend them anymore.

That's where we are headed with our delusional government that think they can just up our credit limit and print more money.

Anyone who thinks that a downgrade is not appropriate is delusional.
