Obama is not stupid, he's a "put in your own expletive" traitor.
There is still doubt about the authenticity of his citizenship and he is overseeing the heist of America's politicial structure and natural resources by foreign powers.

It most certainly is not too late to turn this country around, we have tremendous wealth in our natural resources but we are being looted by foreign interests. Wake up people. You are being sold right in front of your own eyes and you are way too "smart" to see it. Besides, your pampered backsides being raised in a free country can't come to terms with the idea that your own government is selling you - you are just another resource for those in power.

Our gold is being mined by foreign interests and we are given the line that pretty paper has real value. We have failed. Our government is selling us out. The smart people know this but they keep selling the pseudo intellectuals in this country and on this board their fancy abstracts and models - the fact is our currency is worthless, our children are inherting debt and our wealth is being stolen.

Yea, time for the smart alecs to call for the tin foil hat alerts, but consider, ridiculing the truth because we don't like it or it scares us, doesn't change the truth.

I guess it took a stupid man to get Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat to overcome their fear and distrust sign on the dotted line and bring peace between Israel and Egypt. The same stupid man also appointed Paul Volker as Fed Chairman. Carter also chose to build things like the cruise missile instead of the B1A bomber and guess who started the black program Pave Blue which gave us the Stealth Fighter.Something else started in the late 1970s was GPS and when the Space Shuttle had its development problems
stupid old Jimmy stood by it and the first Shuttle Columbia actually rolled out to Pad 39A in Dec. 1980 while he was still President. During old stupid's Presidency America actually reduced imports of foreign oil. Pushing efficient use of oil was more than just a talking point in the Carter Administration. As for Iran would it have been better to go to war with Iran, see 44 American hostages slaugtered and God knows how many more Americans and Iranians? Jimmy didn't cut taxes run up the Federal deficit didn't print money and made money more expensive. Things his sucessor reversed so he didn't have the bubble economy which has several decades later blown up in our faces. Just think if he had flooded the US economy with cheap easy money like Reagan or the Bush II and given us some cheap thrills we might have stuck his name on Washington National Airport. Carter's problem was he was never very good at being the Flim Flan Man like his sucessor.

Ah, no there is not.

There are enough legitimate reasons to vote him out of office without having to resort to this nutjob belief again. Whenever someone bangs on this drum, I realize I could have a slightly more insightful debate with my dog. Who steels cat poo. And eats it. And seems overly happy about it.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The reason we imported less oil is because the economy tanked.

That's not an accomplishment.

It's one of the symptoms of failure.

As for Iran, you don't have to invade if they think you really will.

"Jimmy didn't cut taxes run up the Federal deficit didn't print money and made money more expensive."

Making money more expensive by raising interest rates is how we got out of Carter's double-digit inflation spiral. This raising of interest rates was made possible by Reagan's tax cuts which mitigated the effects of, and made possible, the fed funds rate increase to 20% in 1981. By May 1984, the US dollar had reached its all time high, inflation declined 10 points, 6.5 million private sector jobs had been created, the misery index had declined from 21.98% (June 1980) to 11.63% and the inflation adjusted price of gasoline was $2.55 per gallon.

Default I hope not...

I hope that you younger people do not have to go through that.

If the interest rates rise (like the Prime rate going to 8 or 9 %, and even higher... and mortgage rates going to the same)...It will be a disaster in this country.

For those of you in business (especialy on the finance end), the banks will not be lending so freely. The rates will be high, the demand for collateral will be haunting your business every day - (And this is for everyone in every position of every business) - What it means is that your Accounts Receivables, your inventory and any other asset that your company has will be scrutinized...The money will not be so easily available for financing your company.

Your customers will start paying late, and perhaps eventually stop paying all together...If you have inventories, you will be "savaged" by the buyers that will want it at a discount because they know you are stuck with high finance charges.

Those of you that are trying to sell your houses now...Imagine what will happen to the real estate market when the mortgage rates start rising...

Here's some real advice...Stop bitching to no one in particular on boards like this, and start bitching to your government representatives...If you are a die-hard Democrat or Republican or whatever - forget about party affiliations. You better start thinking of what's best for the whole country, and start kicking your favorite politicians out of office...They all screwed up, didn't they?

"When Carter took office in 1977, he received a moderately growing economy in which inflation was 5.4 percent and interest rates were around 8 percent. When he left office, the Soviets were entrenched in Afghanistan, Iranian students had been holding US State Department personnel and US Marines hostage for 444 days, the American military had been gutted by the administration's post-Vietnam cutbacks, American prestige was in tatters abroad and inflation was in the double digits and interest rates were so high it was impossible for Americans to finance large purchases like homes and cars. Carter's administration is without a doubt the worst in modern American history . . ."

The above is a quote but I think it pretty much sums the situation up.

I do remember when he left office, interest rates on a home purchase, were 22%
