Is this music video representing the "True America"? (soldiers, nationalist)

Texas is a red state, but quite diverse. If you want to see places that will become typical of the rest of the US visit Fort Bend County or Collin County, suburban areas. That is where all the job growth and population growth is occurring compared to other places.
I think that might approach what is considered true "country music America." Except I think most of the other country songs that deal with America are a little more inclusive in terms of who is American (not just small town folks that wave flags and all the men join the armed forces.)
If you want the "true America" - look out the window.
I find it really amusing when people point to the South as true American patriots or "true Americans" . This is embodied in the whole flying the American flag with the Confederate flag....
The irony is not lost on me
If there is one region I would say is truly American its the Midwest. It has big diverse cities that express the urban narratives some consider the true America and having the small, rural towns others considered the true narrative.
The reason this country is great is because thee are so many true America's.
But we really should, not matter what narrative you subscribe to, try to buy more American products
The idea of what is the "True America" can not be defined. America is an idea. Not just one idea but 300,000,000 ideas. A land of many traditions, cultures, races, religions, regions and political ideas so diverse to be unparalleled any were in the world. To take any one of these on there own and define that as the "True America" would be a disservice to what America truly is because that would only be a part of the whole picture. Rich in its diversity to sum up what Americans truly are. A love of being free in all its forms economic, political, religious. open in their opinions and there individuality. Original in creating opportunities for a better life for themselves and there families. Diverse in its cultural expressions in art, music, architecture, sciences, economics, religion and politics due to its history of being a free and open society.
Basically it comes down to genetics, culture, and values. With the exception of Keith and Jennings, none of the others match all three as they relate to the conceptual picture of what an American has historically been. Most are a post-modern picture of an American, and they have little in common with the traits and values that most throughout the history of this country would have conceived as a true American.
You forgot to add the words "in my opinion."
My experience, as an American, is that I live in a nation of immigrants who bring different cultures and perspectives to this land. None of us individually represent what in your opinion is a "true American" but for three generations as citizens (with my children now the fourth) my family have contributed to the well-being of this country, fought in its wars, and proudly waved the flag.
At any point in US history, a large percentage of the country did not share the "genetics, culture, and values" of the so-called "true Americans" of the day.
So what. This is America, and over time and generations the gumbo pot (better description than melting pot) is always changing, as it should.
The "true America" that was described would be just as foreign as any new immigrant culture to the Americans of 100 years ago.
We all should accept it and welcome it. It is part of growing up as a nation, and a culture.
Every American is truly an American and every part of America is truly part of America. Trying to categorize certain people or areas as more American than others is foolish and shows an unwillingness to accept the country as it is rather than what a few people think it should be.
I think it is a better representation of Toby Keith's audience than America.
This. And Toby Keith's audience is once small part of America. But there is so much more! Saying that video represents all of America is like saying my right ring finger is a good representation of my entire body.
If we really wanted to plumb the depths of Americana, I would not choose Toby Keith because his work rings of halcyon days that never quite existed as we say--and seems more reactionary than anything.
If there was anything to celebrate, it would be the unions and the right of the masses to a noble life rather than under the thumb of oppressive government, corporation or ideology.
