That is not true. Up until the big "ObamaCare" conservative media blitz, most Americans have said they want health care reform for decades. Perhaps the final legislation did not get to what they wanted, but he was not ignoring the people.
Polls showed the country very divided and many were not against making health care more accessible and affordable. They were against OBAMA's plan--what little they knew of it. Don't forget the defining Pelosi quote--"We have to pass the bill to find out what's in the bill". It should be obvious that this will have a very negative effect on the business climate and jobs, as employers will be hard pressed to meet the demands made upon them. This bill bypassed Congress almost entirely, as far as the actual writing of it, having been written behind closed doors without input from Congress. There was little debate and the bill was way too massive for anyone to read and understand.
Rahm Emanuel worked for the President. The President decides what the President pushes. Unlike the previous administration where the VP made all the decisions including that great declaration of "deficits don't matter"..And republicans act like they don't know how we got into this mess. Please.

Polls don't decide jack-spit. Polls show Americans favor raising tax rates on the wealthy but your side wont back that. Polls are for pollsters and hacks.
How many Americans are actually informed? Something like 30 percent of Americans still think Bush was a great President. A lot of Americans are creationists. And a lot of Americans think Obama is a Kenyan Muslim Communist Nazi.
Partisan politics and rhetoric aside... I always liked Rahm... to me, I always thought that he was a person that would find "compromise"... if you looked carefully, you would note that he constantly runs back and forth between political parties to seal the deal... I think his biggest obstruction, like it is today with the political parties, is Obama... It never struck me that Obama had this "King" mentality and used the "us" versus "them" as his political weapon... I guess Obama was corrupted by all that power... I wonder how the 2012 elections will turn out...

Do you think people would be more in favor of raising taxes on themselves?

We will "get over it", when you and many others "get over " Bush.
