.....So the fat cat corporations have no problem screwing over the American people and watching their own country drop into third world status just so that they can bring back unregulated big business and even lower corporate taxes.

The people who commented about them holding back on hiring and "Obamacare" obviously missed the point about the billions the companies are already making in profits. Covering the uninsured would be a drop in the bucket for them.

What are the big corporations waiting for?

For Obama to wave goodbye as he gets on the helicopter..then you will see the economy go through the roof.

How exactly are the 'screwing over the American people"?

What would you rather have? A corporation spend now, hire people then have to lay off half of their workforce when the government increases regulation/European countries are downgraded/obamacare is enacted due to a lack of safety cushion, or have the situation we do now?

And obamacare is estimated to increase health care costs to corporations by roughly 17% (only looking at firms based out of NYC). In case you want to talk with real numbers instead of assumptions.

while I admit, our corporate leaders are extremely greedy, can you blame them for going to other countries....we begged Obama to give them a tax cut to return to American, but the fault doesn't stop there...we as a nation, became greedy...we demanded huge salaries...we wanted to live our lives just like our leaders...we wanted the American Dream, only more...and the more you get the more you want...we drove corporations to other countries...which are not regulated like we are, and also, can hire cheap labor....

so, while I'm totally against the Salaries which our CEO's make, at the expense of everyone else, for instance, right now Verizon...they want to take away the blue collar benifits, but keep they're 9 million dollar salaries...and the corporate leaders rape they're customers, so they can continue to pay that kind of money to CEO's. Yet, they hire consultants to tell them how to do they're jobs....?

we hire consultants to fight our wars???? We have been paying millions of dollars to consultant companies, like Blackwater and Dyncorp to go over to other countries and fight our wars, yet, if you really knew the truth about what they do...and how they run those companies...you'd be shocked...they sit around most of the time doing nothing, b/c no one can make a decission. If a machine breaks down, it takes months for them to fix them, b/c they won't keep a machanic on the job over night, they fly mechanics in and out the same day...so, due to that, our men over there who are supposed to be getting paid to go out on missions...are sitting there day in and day out doing NOTHING!

It's the same all over...no one seems to know what they're doing? It's ironic, we're telling our children, they've got to go to college, and yet, we hire consultants, and sub-contractors to do our jobs for us, and they dont' care b/c they're getting paid by someone else....

Work ethics in America has declined, and it's only going to get worse...we have and are the result of our own ruin, we are the demise of this country, every single one of us....

Obama has no all along, that we needed jobs, and yet, he kept spending, spending, spending, and to heck with jobs...and yet, kept telling us it's going to take time, but he refused to sign a bill that would allow Corporations a tax break to bring them back to America.

People, wake up...and when are we going to demand one line veto items, so they cannot slip expenditures in these bills?

I mean, geeze louise?

ever since the last fall of the stock market, what did you think? It was going to stay this way forever...

if our government allows, millions of illegals into this country what does that say about they're credibility??????

Illegals have been instrumental in the decline of our country, and we're in dire straights, but I don't see anyone setting anything up to monitor all of them, to make certain, they are paying taxes, they're not, and yet, we continue to allow them to live here, and work here yet, they do not contribute??????? That is illegal, but everyone turns a blind eye to it??????

and everyone turns a blind eye to the fact that Obama isn't a real American, but that's ok, break the laws....

We're in the position due to a whole lot of reasons, not just one, and it will take American falling on it's nose, to maybe wake up? However, history has always repeated itself...and it's awful hard to stop drinking the cool aid....

Total, absolute and utter BS. Businesses aren't hiring because DEMAND isn't increasing, and they're forcing fewer employees to do more work with no more pay. Part of the reason demand isn't increasing is because so many companies have "off-shored" so many jobs, They've shot themselves in the foot by doing away with the American middle class customers who used to be able to afford their goods and services. Henry Ford would be appalled!

The current administration couldn't tax its way out of a brown paper bag. If Obama were going to tax the hell out of businesses, you really think he would wait until his final year in office? The man couldn't even get a few tax loopholes closed, let alone increase taxes on business. This shows just how disconnected you are from reality.

Or it shows that you don't know anything about business. I think my analysis is more sound than yours... considering my analysis is what businesses are saying when you ASK THEM. So believe what they ACTUALLY SAY or believe what you want to believe...

This thread was over about 50 posts ago when I pointed out why businesses are sitting on cash. This isn't an "opinion" this is fact straight from the businesses themselves.

"Sit" on record profits? Who do you think gets the profits? The stakeholders, in other words the share owners. Exactly who do you think that is?

"This shift of business ownership from rich people to working people may be the greatest economic transformation since the Industrial Revolution.
...So what does all this mean? Well, for starters, it should lead to an end of complaints about the profits of corporations and allegations about 'greedy corporations.' After all, much of that profit now goes toward the current and future retirement incomes of working people."

Business Ownership & Labor Day

Read the entire article, and open your eyes.

Everyone who contributes to or benefits from a 401k, pension fund, mutual fund, annuity, or whole life insurance policy, etc., is a corporate owner, en masse. They get the corporate profits.

Guess who the US's biggest investor is?

CalPERS, the California public employee union. Pension systems and retirement accounts are "sitting" on the profits. Perhaps you believe those should be raided and emptied of their value?
