Why are we pulling up news stories from 18 months ago? Is it to distract from the current failures taking place? Imagine how bad things would be if they didnt filibuster this crap.
Let me ask you, did they filibuster the budget? I'm still waiting for it!!!!
btw, did you even read your OWN link?
Republicans have made it clear that 60 votes — the number needed to cut off debate in the 100-member Senate — are required to pass not only major Democratic programs, but also many routine proposals
(Democrats controlled 60 Senate seats from July until last week, when Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., was sworn in.)
Democrats had the 60 votes to block every single filibuster, but they DIDNT. Its DEMOCRATS who couldnt get their **** together.
really? you somehow think that there were really 41 republicans in 2009 in the senate? get real. granted there were only 58 democrats in the senate, BUT the two independents voted with the democrats more than 90% of the time, making them essentially democrats. in 2009, and most of 2010, there was NOTHING the republicans could do to block ANY legislation put out by the democrats, but the democrats shot themselves in the foot by voting against their OWN bills.
Proof beyond any doubt of the right's childish behavior and goal to destroy the country at all costs.
Short memory? I guess you think that it is OK when Democrats fillibuster but not when your side is fillibustered against?
Flashback 2003-2005 and look at the Democrat fillibusters of Bush court appointees.
