Vermont passed a law that will send our electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote, as I understand it. That means Vermont may even go red again for the first time in years, on the presidential election...

The attempts to bypass the electoral college are interesting though also dangerous I think.

We needn't worry. It's only the bluest of states that will do something like this, and they are few in number. As it stands now, those blue states that passed laws like this only give the GOP an edge. California's 55 votes are now actually up for grabs for the GOP, something that hasn't happened since Reagan. Some conservatives are posting negative comments about the new law in CA on Fox, but if you really think about it, if the GOP candidate won the popular vote, then CA can go red again. Brown signed the law hoping that it'll prevent another 2000 fiasco (but how many of those happened, really?)
