Why would they ever bother to learn English, if we are going to lay down and cater to them. So many in the European Countries while i was visiting, did not cater to me in English, some spoke it yes, but i had to learn the basics to get around it is something you just do. So many now do speak english very well, pretty funny too you know, in so many European Countries, so many speak english and well, yet you have those who are here illegally, enjoying our benefits for free, and cannot learn english. No sense in that.

It's also not as much a matter of choice as the language bigots make it out to be. We have legal obligations to people that trump the administrative inconvenience of translating common documents into a handful of languages.
Really? Where in the Constitution is that?
Too bad my ancestors didn't take advantage of that 100-ish years ago.
...Oh. That's right.
They didn't come here expect everyone else to cater to them.

Sounds great. How about all those people who are trying but just haven't learned it at adequate proficiency yet. Should their rights be denied?

Illiterate people are allowed to vote in this country. How would this be any different?
Isn't it disrespectful to this countries native language & its people?

You have the right to vote. I wasn't aware there was a right to have election materials in any damn language you please.

How will these voters be able to listen to, read and comprehend the issues which are DEBATED in ENGLISH?
Ahh yes. Another thread highlighting that "brown" is the new "black".

They are an oppressed people who don't want to use English. They prefer their native language and the US Government better do something about it.

Just look at what printing voting materials in 3-4 languages has done for the CA budget, not to mention the free health care.

But, if the goal is to take over this country why would anyone bother learning English?

Obviously, but the OP was not referring to Spanish speakers who immigrated from Spain.
