Nice job of conveniently ignoring the fact it was Eisenhower(R) who began our involvement in Vietnam as well as portraying that POS Nixon as a peacemaker. He manipulated the end of the war to benefit his re-election campaign, I hope he rots in hell an extra eternity for every needless death he's responsible for.
World War I, Germany was caught offering Mexico all of the lands it had lost to the USA back. So while Wilson took us to War I suppose the GOP would have given back California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas?
Yeah, and after the Southwest they were going to give Mexico exclusive rights to the dark side of the moon
(I'd give back Texas and Arizona right now, anyway, and say good riddance.)

World War II, Japan attacked the USA and Germany declared WAR on the United States I suppose the GOP would have turned the other cheek?
I don't flack for either party, they are both horrid, but it is known and documented that FDR longed for war, and did everything short of spitting in Hirohito's face to make sure he got one.

While we lost the battle in vietnam, we won the Cold War, I assume you would have given Southeast Asia to the Communists
WW2 gave a hell of a lot more than pitiful Southeast Asia to the Communists. We could've dealt with Ho Chi Minh; he was a brute, but not crazy.

You forgot Korea where i suppose you would have turned the other cheek also
Allow me to illuminate the flaw in your "analysis."
WW1: foreign war joined late by the USA after u-boat action by Germany
WW2: foreign war joined late by the USA after attack by Japan
Vietnam War: foreign war joined late by USA
All the above--wars that could've been "joined" not at all by USA. Cyclone is right about all the above. That doesn't alter the fact that most ignorant, provincial, bloodthirsty people are now in the GOP, for various demographic and historical reasons.
Except that WWI and WWII were World Wars where we were attacked, and not some attempt to put the blame off on someone else who didn't do it, to get oil, to avenge daddy, and not to not seem weak.
And like it was said, ideals of parties change, WWI Democrats are more in line with Republicans now.
How were we attacked in WW-I
WWI was started on the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in 1914.
Wilson said we would not get involved to get re-elected.
WW-II When did Germany attack us?
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor??
What the hell are they teaching our kids these days???
Both parties are the War Party for they believe and in Wars when it benefits the speical interests and political do gooder thinking. The traditional American policy of strategic independence and neutrality based on strength has been replaced by an international policy of sacrifices, policy that has given us nearly a century of war. The last two wars were fought without formal declaration and without the goal of victory in mind. Republicans and Demcrats have the same policy with the same POOR results.
The major wars in the last 100 years in US History are the following:
WWI
WWII
Vietnam
Here are the presidents and their party that were in office during these wars:
WWI - Woodrow Wilson (Democrats)
WWII - FDR (Democrats)
Vietnam - JFK & LBJ (Democrats)... Nixon who was a Republican was later elected to end the war
Historically, from this analysis, overall for the last 100 years I'd classify the Democrats as the "war party"
...How easily we forget right?
How about the last 30 years.
Grenada
Lebanon
Iraq
Somalia
Afganistan
Iraq again
Democrats only got us involved in Libya and Yugoslavia and both of them didn't involve ground troops. The 1960s and Reagan radically transformed American politics and the alignments of both parties.

You forgot Korea - Truman (Democrat)
And our involvement in Vietnam actually began while Truman was President. Truman sent $86 billion in WW II military surplus to the French for the specific purpose of waging war in Vietnam in order to hold on to their colony. By the time JFK became President we already had 2,000 US troops in Vietnam, and by November 1963 we were up to 20,000 US troops in Vietnam. However, the Vietnam War did not officially begin until August 1964 with the enactment of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.
