I am sick and tired of all the political bickering that goes on between the parties that are in power.
I am also sick and tired of representatives that are not accountable under the laws of the land and the people the serve.
Wouldn't it be nice to vote in all independents that are beholding only to the people that they represent?
OK, I am away now. Sorry, but it was a good dream.

I think we need an Independent President, someone who has a little of this and a little of that. Someone who congress can see as not strictly one party.

Yes but remember that the President can only sign what the House and the Senate put before him.

nice dream, but now back to reality. the only way we are going to get those that we vote for to stand up for their constituents, is if we can force them to ELIMINATE lobbyists completely.

i fear though that it will take several million angry citizens marching on washington all at once to force our federal government to make the needed changes, and that is unlikely to happen in our lifetime.

Obama is one of the most centrist presidents we've ever had. Though it's rough now, 2012 is looking like it's going to be a landslide victory for sanity. The independents and those standing for liberty will be heard. The democrats will pick up very strong numbers in congress, the tea party crazies will be voted out and "real" republicans likely will be voted in. After that things likely will begin to progress very quickly to end the childish stupidity and return to acting like adults to get the country back on track.

You are most likely right, but I don't see things changing much. In my lifetime they have really gone down hill.
Then again maybe I am just getting to be more aware in my older years of what was going on all along.
