There was a lot of anti Bush sentiment prior to 2004. The two wars he started were already deemed failures, so why can't Obama get re-elected despite a bad economy?

Because the wars where a matter of "OMGGG what are you doing?!"
With Obama it's "OMGGG WHERE'S THE MONEY!!??"
Not to sound heartless, but we care more about our money than the wars we start over there -- or anywhere.
..and I have to agree. My money and personal well being is more important than others.
I don't want to be a welfare country. I, and many others, are better than that.

dont be so sure about that, remember the second carter or bush 41 terms? you cant because they never happened due to a poor economy in the case of carter, or a perceived poor economy in the case of bush41.
Democrats aren't Republicans. I think many Republicans voted for Bush knowing he was a disaster. In fact, even though they are strongly pro-life, they went to the polls and knowingly voted for the abortion, that was W. I think Democrats are different. We break ranks more often.
Unless Obama becomes a totally different person, I don't see a second term for him. The problem is the GOP field. Which of that crop of loonies and losers can lead? Romney? Bachmann?
I guess this liberal really only has one choice, and it's a long shot -- Ron Paul. Maybe he has a chance if he starts aggressively going after disenchanted Democrats to build his support.

.................... liberal logic
1. 9.1 % unemployment and real unemployment at 22%
2. $14.5 trillion in debt with no end in sight
3. annual deficits of $1.6 trillion
4. A new entitlement, Obamacare, when we are already broke
5. Job killing regulations
6. Job killing restrictions on energy exploration
7. Support of illegal immigrants at the expense of US citizens
8. Support of unions at the expense of US workers
9. Crashing stock market
10. US jobs bleeding overseas
11. falling value of US dollar
EVERY LIBERAL will vote for Obama, regardless of the above. VERY FEW independents will vote for Obama, due to the above. NO CONSERVATIVE will vote for Obama, as they generally do not vote for marxists.
With the nation on its knees, the independents will not vote for four more years of Obama- the nation has had enough and it is time for "Hope and Change". Without the independents, Obama is finished and everyone know it. Even Obama probably knows it at this time. No liberal will know it until the day after the election.

Ya right, that whole 'Hey it's a black guy' gimmick will probably only work once. Better shot with Hillary.
