Sorry the title is messed up. I spelled "only" as "onlyy" ugh.

Interesting article. This is one of the most unproductive congress. Possibly ever in the US. Although the congress is only 1/4 done, if it keeps up the same % of bill passing, it still will be behind.

Only 20 bills have been enacted. 7 failed. 4,288 were introduced. Only 305 are getting some action (getting attention in the committee, moving to the floor, getting marked up).

Kill Bill: How many bills are there? How many are enacted?

Here is a list of the 20 bills passed in this congress(this list is updated and shows 27 enacted bills, not 20):

I think what our nation needs is the opposite of more bills - Congress should put some effort into going through all our statutes and consolidating/streamlining/organizing what's already there.

The less bills are passed, the better. More government is not better government

To : lovehiscountry, theunbrainwashed, and nr5667,

Given the number of problems we have in this country 20 bills is NOT a good thing. We have many roads, streets, and bridges that need repair. There has been a massive recall of ground turkey meat. We need a jobs program. No, 20 to 27 bills is too few.

And considering the hours congress puts in, 20 bills is atrocious.

We already have various government entities created to address all those issues you listed. Like I said, I'd prefer to see congress make what we already have work, rather than create more stuff that doesn't work.

Congress does not pass a bill to fix every pothole. And congress does not directly legislate matters pertaining to turkey meat.

Congress does however allocate funds to state and cities/towns to spend on pot-holes.

There is plenty of money allocated to be spent. Whats your point, you think we should be spending more, running larger deficits?
