it seems that article was written BEFORE the BP oil spill, and since the oil spill the obama administration as allowed something like ONE new drilling permit, and has canceled a number of them.

And is still waffling on the proposed pipeline from Canada where you get the MOST imported oil from.

Yes, please do stop. You're a bit behind the news. Obama is out to destroy domestic energy production - gas, coal, oil.

Surely you remember all those drilling rigs in the Gulf leaving for friendlier waters - taking the jobs with them?

His war on coal and the nation's energy producers is a well documented fact.

Exactly right...I guess the above poster has not stayed current with the news.

The regulatory clampdown on offshore oil drilling seems to be easing far north of the gulf. On Aug. 4, 2011, the Department of the Interior granted Royal Dutch Shell conditional approval of its plan to begin drilling exploratory wells in the Arctic Ocean next summer, a strong sign that the Obama administration is more willing to approve expanded domestic oil and gas exploration.

Truth be told. Just as many attempt to paint Obama as a far left Liberal...he's not, just as many attempt to portray him as an environmentalist...he's not.

Ask all those unemployed oil seeking people in Louisiana if they think he is overly environmentalist or not. He is overly progressive and right now it is the tree huggers he is in with since most progs are there too. He may not be an environmentalist but they certainly support his non-drilling methods and that is much of what he is aiming at.

what a small left wing world you live in. dear leader chairman maobama IS an ultra left liberal, and he IS a hardcore environmentalist. the problem you have is that he is also an incrementalist as well. the loony left wants everything done right now, dear leader chairman maobama on the other hand knkows that he has to do things incrementally otherwise he will meet serious resistance from the large majority of the country, which he is now just not as bad as it could be, and he would be booted out of office forthwith.

Hey, thanks for opening that link, since I didn't. I have now and I wonder more and more if that little thing in the gulf was really what it has been purported to have been. Obama would set off a thing like that in order to regain some of the green support of the environmentalist groups in that article. Once more I am worrying about what really did happen down there.

Freudenthal was appointed to the federal bench not by Reagan or Bush…but by Barack Obama. Which makes the rejection of the White House’s claim that it did no harm to the economy all the more noteworthy:

Lame duck?

Obama seems more intent on propping up Brazil's oil production and economy than the US. Of course his buddy Soros dumping piles of money into petrobras is just an odd coinkydink too.

Score one for big oil and score zero for those who rely on fishing and tourism to make a living.
