There are three different types of class warfare going on. One is the traditional liberal class warfare waged against those who are considered too wealthy.
The second is the more modern conservative class warfare waged against working and middle class folks whose wages, health care benefits and pensions are considered too extravagant.
The third is the general hatred of the poor.
The second group being waged class wafare against will probably be the big losers. The poor's numbers will be bolstered by the second group that loses wages, benefits and pensions.
Seems like it...wonder why it is anyones business if someone else makes more than them...folks should clap for those folks instead of trying to redistribute wealth and income to be equal...need new leadership in DC to reprioritize things, although the media would not cooperate...
There has always been an element of class warfare in the US, this is nothing new, but this is an administration who has shamefully and publicly provoked class warfare to the point where, IMO, black youths are starting to go after whites. Imagine how bad it's going to get when the elections heat up for real and Obama faces the very real prospect of being outed.
It isn't a war, its a diversionary tactic used to keep solidarity of position from occurring. The winners are those who incite its illusion and the losers are those who buy into it.
What can we do to stop it?
Stop buying into the arguments being made out there that attempt to pit one class against the other. The problem isn't ones position at any given time in life, we have already established that each is individually free to pursue their own success in life. Start looking at who is making the claims of such, they are the true enemies in this supposed "war". They do not want individuals to stand up poor and rich alike and oppose the increasing power of control to which governments purpose. As long as we keep pointing to each other as the enemies, they can move freely through our ranks encouraging and gaining power through such acceptance of conflict.

Exactly...
Watch my left hand closely and pay no attention to the bonds I slip on to you with my right hand.
I guess class warfare, whether open or more subtle, automatically increases when the economic differences between the extremes get too big and the ones at the bottom feel that they don#t get their fair share despite trying.
Oftentimes the term class warfare is used to discredit egalitarian efforts in society, which are perfectly OK.
a. People who own a ton of assets (QE1, QE2, TARP, TALF, ZIRP, etc.)
b. People who live off government redistribution (Medicare, EITC, WIC, Section 8, etc., and the smorgasbord of federal programs.)

Why are the losers losing?
It's a boring and complicated subject.
People want easy-to-understand narratives like:
"the poor are under attack from the far right"
or
"the rich are under attack from the far left"
Plus there's a lot of money involved in keeping the system this way. I like to think of us as a crude society of tribal-like interest groups, none of whom have the nation's best interests in mind.
The hard right think the rich should have everything, at the expense of the middle class and are hell bent on doing everything they possibly can to give to their corporate masters.
