Only in political terms. There is a lot of "democrats don't care about white people, republicans suck, don't bother voting" sentiment among people my age (mid twenties). Not much actual interpersonal racism. Quite the opposite, in fact: young people are returning to the city centers their parents fled during the white flight era.
Just people here and other forums. When you actually go outside, breath the air and talk to people, most are very friendly. These folks just have problems and use this as an echo chamber/meet up for others who are similar.
That is so true. I have to agree with you. The internet does not represent the real world and can be distorting of reality.
White people generally only see "race" as a factor when they feel that it isn't their race to blame. They are more conscious than ever because in their eyes, someone of another race is responsible for their problems, which is why paranoia is seeping in.
Prior to Obama, white people weren't as radically right winged.
But seriously, I hate how you can make broad sweeping completely ignorant statements about an entire race, as long as you only stereotype the white race, and have nothing happen to it.
If I were to say "blacks only see race when they're looking for another victim because blacks are criminals," I would get in trouble. Yet you can bash on the white race all you want.
This WH administration is causing the division. Anyone who doesn't see that is a racist themselves because they can't see it, it is too normal for them to have this divisiveness.
In the 1980s, 90s, and early 2000s, people were living in harmony. Nowadays, races (whites in particular) are paranoid of each other.
Harmony, really, me thinks not.
As for the question, SOME are, that is what happens when someone spends too much time listening to fear mongers such as Rush, Hannity, Beck and Coulter to name just a couple.
