Out of wedlock births, failing economy, illegal immigration, all contribute to the increase in child poverty.

How much of it is attributed to illegal immigration in the millions?

A very large portion of the poverty is imported.

That's a double edged sword, the imports will work for wages no one can live on so they require enormous amounts of Medicaid, food stamps, WIC, and much more, but the displaced Americans also require government programs to survive.

It looks to me like the liberal freaks have lost their "War on Poverty", at our expense.

The War on Poverty is a much worse failure than even the War on Drugs. It's time to just end it.

Obama is doing everything he can to entice more third world poverty to come to the USA and cash in on the government programs even including college financial aid with his newly enacted Dream Act.

Nothing is going to be done -- and in many parts of the country now, more children are born into welfare than are born to working taxpaying Americans.

In many states medicaid pays for nearly 50% of the births.

As Percent of State Births - Kaiser State Health Facts

Extrapolate the lower socioeconomic factors that had Medicaid paying for the birth, will then have the parent(s) working in low skilled jobs, passing on poverty to their children. The cycle continues.

Maybe we could save money by eliminating all Free Lunchs for school kids to keep them from ending up needing diabetes treatment that's paid by the gov't

They will get better!

But they will get a lot worse first.

The United States economy is in the process of being completely restructured. This is much more painful that what happened from the mid-1970's to the early 1980's.
