Social Security disability on verge of insolvency - Yahoo! News

It's very sad how the Gov't has taken the $$ away and spent it on other things that it deems to be more important.

But yet it can't be touched in any reformation debates....courtesy of U.S. Liberals.

Liberals are not patriots. They hate the United States of America. What other conclusion can you draw from an ideology whose cornerstone is to mastermind the fall of the world's only superpower at the behest of social justice?

The numbers are staggering...3.3 million to apply this year and there's a 2 year backlog for processing.

From the link...seems SSDI may offer even more generous benefits at an earlier age so it's more beneficial to apply for SSDI then try to wait it out til full benefits of SS.

From link:
"Retirees can get full Social Security benefits at age 66, a threshold gradually rising to 67. Early retirees can get reduced benefits at 62. However, if you qualify for disability, you can get full benefits, based on your work history, even before 62."

It's like the parents raided little Billy's college fund and spent it on drugs and booze.
Our government have proven most consistent in this regard.

Ron Paul is our only chance at ending this charade.

Why in the world should it be touched? Ppl that qualify for this benefit put in the required amount of quarters (40) to qualify. It's better that these folks get it as opposed to SSI ppl (poor ppl, immigrants and excessive breeders) who contribute practically nothing. Certain stay at home spouses also contribute nothing by qualifying thru a working spouse, and they receive full social security/medicare benefits although they never worked.

It is a fact of life that ppl will get disabled thru no fault of their own. In a democratic society, they should be provided for since they DID contribute.
What do you mean by saying that liberalism wants to destroy America? I just want what the government has stolen from me all of these years? It is a common sense value for a gov't to have fiscal responsibility and obligation to its citizens. If you put your $$ in a bank and then the bank told you that they would only pay you 75% of your savings back, how would you react?

Workers contribute to these funds. Should they be held responsible because Congress couldn't keep their money hungry paws off those funds ?

Congress has a responsibility to repay all that money "borrowed" over the years.

Workers should be allowed to withhold from contributing to SS, just as anyone is allowed to protect valuables from thieves.

Its not a matter of touching it ;it's a matter of the fund going under in 2017.The first move has been made in more money to investigate and eliminate frauduent claims of people actually workig and claiming the benefit. If not reformed the fund goes under in 2017.Te increases in claims being apporaverd has bee huge since 2008 .
