It is my considered opinion, based on almost 60 years observing America and its institutions, that there will be NO economic recovery until Obama, his ilk and hyper-burdensome laws, regulations and edicts are swept into the ash-bin of failed political endeavor.
The reason is simple - Business is unwilling to exert the effort or incur the risk necessary to bring about economic recovery under an administration that has expressed nothing but animus against business, success and the successful.
Without business and businessmen/women willing to take the lead (out fear of "punitive" regulation and taxation) there can and will be no recovery.
Well stated.
0bama signs a bill, which no republican voted for, that gives special tax rebates to people buying corporate jets, for the purpose of stimulating the economy. Then a few months later, he is publicly demonizing people for taking the very tax break that he himself signed into law.
0bama signs an extension of the Bush tax rates, claiming "You can't raise taxes" with a poor economy. A few months later he is pounding his scrawny fist, demanding tax increases.
Every few months 0bama's EPA and HHS unveils new burdensome laws and regulations, all of with increase the costs of doing business.
Is it any wonder all businesses are hoarding profits, and refusing to expand or invest? They have no clue what new **** storm 0bama will unleash next.
President George W. Bush entered office in 2001 just as a recession was starting, and is preparing to leave in the middle of a long one. That’s almost 22 months of recession during his 96 months in office.
His job-creation record won’t look much better. The Bush administration created about three million jobs (net) over its eight years, a fraction of the 23 million jobs created under President Bill Clinton‘s administration and only slightly better than President George H.W. Bush did in his four years in office.
Here’s a look at job creation under each president since the Labor Department started keeping payroll records in 1939. The counts are based on total payrolls between the start of the month the president took office (using the final payroll count for the end of the prior December) and his final December in office.
Because the size of the economy and labor force varies, we also calculate in percentage terms how much the total payroll count expanded under each president. The current President Bush, once taking account how long he’s been in office, shows the worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records
Exactly! America needs a Republican president and staff. Then the economy will flourish!
Of course, you are right except for the word flourish. It will improve the day Obama leaves the White House. Just think of what side of things the new czars will represent.
I think in order to start new and fresh, we cannot move on and prosper while Obama is still our President. Very clear the road and path he wants to take us down, and it is not good.
Hopefully the next person to take over, will not put all the blame on Obama almost 3 years into their presidency, but will have solutions and answers so that American can get on a speedy recovery course. And for gosh sakes, jobs, please so many people i know have lost their jobs, it has been a long proces for some of these fine hard working people to find work, so many lost their homes.
We need someone new in here. Ok Obama was given a chance, People voted for him, based on his baseless claims and promise of being the Everyone's President, and bringing Hope N' Change to all that believed in it. He was given this chance, and blew it royally.
Ah yes, your link is dated January 9, 2009. The Won hadn't been coronated yet that day, had he?
