In case you're unaware of it, Bill Gates is actually giving away billions of dollars right now, while he's alive.

Another thing you seem to be unable to grasp is that wealthy people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are not trying to avoid paying taxes themselves, they are trying to bring about what they (and I agree with them) view as a fairer distribution of the burdens and rewards of our society. You can't do that just by giving away your own money.
