Rosewood...guess you missed it.
Uh, yep, guilty. I read the Gibson site, not wiki, and didn't dig deeper as it's not my thread to prove and defend. You claimed the guitar was

"Made from" implies the guitar itself, not small pieces of it. Gibson says

But rosewood is not "illegal." And not all Indian rosewood is illegal to import. Depends on where it was grown and how it was harvested.

Furthermore, the guitar gift was in April 2009. The raid for the particular species of endangered ebony was in Nov. 2009. The raid for illegally harvested rosewood was in Aug. 2011.

You've made absolutely no connection between the purchase of the gift, the wood origin of the gift, and Gibson's later purchase of allegedly illegally harvested products.

If you have some evidence of the First Lady's knowledge of the origin of the wood used on that particular guitar or of the materials purchase that would take place 2 years later, please present it. A parking ticket on her time machine, perhaps?

Infant mortality in the U.S.A. is higher than any other industrialized country and higher, in fact, than many 3rd world countries. Kill Obama care. That will teach anyone except rich people to think they should be having children.

But Michelle Obama gives a Gibson Guitar to the First Lady of France? Arrest her. Throw her in a dungeon. Impeach her husband.

I swear, some folks aren't just of a different party. They are of a different species.
You really should address your concerns to the Obama administration...why are they harassing a company..for selling a product..that was purchased by Michelle Obama.

Meanwhile Laura Bush ran over somebody while drunk in Texas! Glad she wasn't giving away a "guitar" laden with "Rosewood" in the process!

Gibson.com: Gibson Hummingbird
Which would be less than 6mm in thickness...perfectly legal.

When I read some posts from you declaring your outrage over lying to start a war, torturing people, letting the rich buy our government out from under us, high infant mortality rates, oil companies dispoiling our land and water, and secretaries paying higher taxes than their CEO boss then I will consider it.

The Obamas' prospects of finding a cure for cancer is about the same as being pro jobs, non-existent. Just, the fact that they'd give a Gibson (legal or otherwise), as an international gesture, is ironic at the very least. The gift and the timing is impeccable as always.
