.......And in many respects Big Labor and Big Politics would prefer it like that: centralized authority directing huge numbers of the masses. As Barack Obama has discovered, as hard as it is for the government to "create" jobs when it's dealing with the automobile or steel industries, it's an even more forlorn endeavor with "green" start-ups. What's the future for the labor market? Here's what I had to say in After America:......
They drive an hour to a boring mall, spend hubby's credit card (in this area unless professor or doctor they work at Eastman chemical plant in Kingsport and earn a whopping 40k).
They spend it on cheap garbage at Sears, Claire's (your daughter wants to wear cheap plastic bangles and beads like "Claires Barbie",so follow directions please, spend at least 80.00 on brass that turns green and plastic baubles manufactured in Macao or Vietnam.
Then get a bouffant hair-do at Merle Norman, then buy a cheap handbag made in Korea at Charming Charlies but pay above market for it at 300.00 and pretend its a Hermes designer bag.
Then take kids and grammy to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's and suck down the carbs to congratulate yourself on being a good american.
Labor Day where I live was to honor hard working men and women... today its when one of these lazy government subsidised people are in LABOR and go to the hospital... its Labor Day everyday with them.
"Imagine a Republican saying this: “Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.” (Abraham Lincoln)

What you described is just a dream to most of the world. We have it pretty good. I do wish we could bring jobs home though. If we don't this scenario may disappear in the future.
No mall to go to, no car to drive or if you have one only drive in your area since you can't afford gas, No shops at the mall to shop in, no restaurants to eat at.

Labor it great if it does not become greedy. My BIL worked for GM. He had a great retirement until labor wanted more and more and it could not be sustained. Now he is worried about the future.
Thank you. I even woke and went to my classroom for a few hours to get ahead. I slept in a little bit and then cut our early. Have a great day yall. God bless.

Not a very self-actualized dream. rather low on the scale of ambition IMO. Vacuous.
A mall does not equal quality of life...unless someone is 12 years old and hasnt ever seen one before.

So labor should never aspire to bettering itself? Keep them in their place, you mean?
