It's not working, it's causing uncertainty in the markets, and they're just kicking the can down the road further. It's also preventing Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Greece from devaluing and improving economically. Just admit it doesn't work and break up already, sheesh

Well, that is a critque of the single currency (Euro) and how it is structured.
There is no success in an economy where they have some working not at all and others only working 30 hours a week.
Without productivity and all these entitlements how would they expect to stay solvent.
We need to learn from their mistakes rather than having to make all our own IMO.
True, the OP thinks the EU is only about the Euro and the economy apparently. The Euro could be ditched, but the EU will stand.
It really is all about the single currency. But, apparently you haven't been paying attention to the all the countries defying the Schengen agreement. The entire apparatus is falling apart.

When they want to break it up, they'll do so. Until then, nevermind what they're doing. I trust that they know what they're doing.
Great, another Europe thread where people don't know the difference between the EU and the Eurozone.
Another Europe thread where people talk about Europe as if it is one country, instead of 27 countries that have entered into a series of treaties.
Another thread where Europe is blamed for actually wanting Greece to run itself properly.

The elites have too much riding on it especially France.

*sigh*
Excuse me but there is talk of more federation in the EU (one fiscal and taxation policy for example). I don't think folks are out of line for treating the EU as one entity.

Trust but verify.
