Blame Clinton for repealing a crucial financial regulations in the late 1990s, and blame the democrats who headed the banking oversight committees for refusing to do their jobs.

Is it the President's job to create bills? He can't do much more than make proposals and wait for the congress, can he?

Most people have no idea that we were headed for a great depression. As bad as it is now, and it's really bad, it could be a lot worse.
You comfort yourself by using the old line of "it could be worse"? How so? When 0bama took office we were at 7% unemployment, and he said our economy was the worst economy since the Great Depression. Since 0bama took office the economy has gotten progressively worse, which means it's gotten much worse then "the worst economy since the Great Depression."

... and the economy was losing almost half million jobs a month. It lost 8.8 million jobs in the private sector since Dec 2007, more jobs lost than added since 2001. And it is also Obama's fault. Anyway, sorry for interruption...

everything he has done has hurt the private sector and impoverished the country.

all of that interest that we have to pay on all this spending is money that could be spent taking care of our citizens.

all of that wasted war money and foreign aid is money that could have been spent taking care of our citizens.

he has done nothing to help the jobless rate and, in fact, will do nothing. he is encouraging illegal immigrants because he is pandering to hispanics. (i bet a lot of working hispanics are sick of lower wages also).

it's pretty simple-with high unemployment and lower wages you literally aren't going to have enough money collected to take care of all the rising social needs that you are faced with. i just saw a statistic that hispanics have the most children in poverty-more than whites even now, and they are a smaller portion of the population. i think i saw that 1/3 of the children are living in poverty.

none of this is good for america now, and even worse going forward.
You've got that right, how many hundreds of billions of dollars each year will we be spending on repaying the $15 trillion debt, that we could have used to fund federal social welfare programs? Our federal government has pissed all those trillions down a rat hole, and we have nothing to show for it. Then again, Solyndra has a nice looking solar factory.

And Obama PROMISED that if we gave him his trillion dollar stimulus it would reduce unemployment... way below where it is today.

Sorry for the interruption....

Yes, maybe you and I should ask Obama for half a billion dollars so we can buy that factory.... we might just get it.

You must be as simple as he is if you don't understand that raising taxes, especially this one can cause much pain among, especially poor and middle class people. Anything to get more money out of their hands to redistribute to the non-productive people is fair in his eyes and I guess in yours.
SO if he is going to raise taxes & cause pain on the poor & middle-class & redistribute it to non-productive people, just who are these non-productive people? The rich?

Maybe. Non productive people are not an income group.
