How do you measure the quality of an education system?
East Asian countries produce the smartest kids (at least in terms of RRR, sciences, etc.), but I doubt the West would appreciate the way that is achieved. South Korean schools for instance work a bit like they used to in the West in the 60s, very authoritarian, almost like a military academy. There are many suicides among Japanese kids who can't deal with the pressure.

That is no true at all. The tea party wants to destroy education and slash funding to bankroll the rich. Progressives want everyone to have a high quality education so they can be prosperous in life and be productive citizens. The tea party and hard right do not value education. Just look at the most prosperous and educated areas of the country are also the most liberal, while the least educated and poor are the most conservative.

Oh man the righties are going to have to spin some more in their attempt fool people into thinking that they acually back education for all children. Nothing could be further from the truth, their own words on this board, repeated many times are all the evidence anyone needs. They do not care about anyone but themselves and, of-course, their Masters, pawns always put the needs of their Masters above that of the Nation or its People. The good thing is they keep exposing themselves to the public and the more they d the more Americans will comes to realize that the far right only wants to take us all backwards in time to a place no one in their right mind would want to live.

The left must be beaten back again, as they were in the 20's, 40's and 70's.
Oh really? These two men disagree with you:

TPers are serious about fiscal responsibility.
PROGs are serious about ending wars to profit big business.

I think these guys need to get together and combine agendas for their (and our) mutual benefit.

There is no compromise where extremists are involved, is what you really mean.

People choose to be diametrically opposed. They could choose otherwise.

Run on those parameters regardless of any current circumstance that might logically dictate otherwise?

This is why I think ideology is intellectual poison.

If we don't start compromising we're f***ed! Plain and simple!

I'll throw two out there: I would speculate that both groups have the same general respect for the First Amendments free speech clause and the Fourth Amendment, as these tend to be heavily valued principles.

Any occasional deviation on either of those issues, I would suspect comes more from statistical outliers that can exist in both groups. Most people in both groups want the First Amendment to be generously protected, as it usually tends to be in this country (save a few categorical exceptions).

In some aspects the tea party and far left have more in common than moderates of both parties. For example when it comes to bailout packages it is leftists like Bernie Saunders as well as the tea party coalition who vote against it. Moderates and all those who support "grand compromise" are basically on the side of too big to fail crony capitalism.

You will never see changes like the ones I proposed unless the federal government is involved. We need a leader that is charismatic to even propose changes like those I mentioned.

Right now we have government pay and private sector pay out of balance. Our private sector jobs give our dollars value. Higher public sector jobs inflate our dollars. For about forty years our private sector has not had a raise (counting a raise as a penny or more over the cost of living increase).

Our economy is not setting the world on fire. We are seriously in debt. We lost our AAA rating. Logically; how are we going to get a handle on all this? It isn’t going to be with more government spending. Of course; nobody wants to be first or loose their own job.
