Why would you label this as a terrorist attack? Good heavens this was a National Championship air race and a terrible tradgedy. At least 3 reported dead at this time with at least 25 critically injured and another 25 seriously injured.

Please re-title your thread to be accurate.

Well, I hope the MODS change it.

I posted just from the headline without reading the story first.

A plane crashing into spectators?

Just naturally thought the terrorists found a way past the patdowns.

Let's see, a P-51(WW2 era) fighter plane, modified
into a pylon racer. So, the basic air plane is about
61 years old & rebuilt for speed, kinda like a funny
car for the sky, right ?? Damn, what could go wrong
there?

And if he had been 35 years old it wouldn't have happened?

These aircraft can pull in excess of 5G in tight turns.

I know that no cause has been released yet, but a question has to be asked about whether a 74 year old body can withstand that type of strain

What does 5g have to do with anything? If your used to something like that.

That's like saying a case of beer is a lot to a person....unless he drinks a case a day...then a case is not a lot....

The pilot was from here in Ocala, he was well known throughout the community and highly thought of.
