What's amazing is...I used to be considered a fairly conservative Democrat, now I'm a left-wing radical...and I haven't changed my thinking on anything.

The right-wing christian Republicans are pretty damn close to fascism imo. And if that doesn't scare you, you don't know anything about history.

PS, if unskilled were Dems, Ky, Bama, Mississippi, and Arkansas would be more blue than New York. The rural poor vote AGAINST their economic self-interests.
More variations on a theme. I think if the Dems wish to broaden their base they would stop calling people stupid. NY is as blue as it is because of the huge, government perpetuated, under class.

Please feel free to refute the data, it should be easy, ya know Rasmussen and all.

Who are you, to judge people as an under class?

Name calling is always very persuasive. Please outline for us, the Republican positions that so petrify you.

Hardly variations, those 4 states are the heart of Reagan Dems, hence they have stayed as RED as their more economically developed neighbors. Demographics would indicate that is an anomoly.

Read what I said. Who are you, that you can call other people... poorer people, less educated people, but citizens of the same damn country as you...an under class?

5 years ago, I would've simply passed that by, labeling you as a snob or just a person with a serious superiority complex. Now I think of class warfare. That's what the U.S.A. is coming to.

Actually, the issue of "intelligence" really originated in Karl Rove's "culture wars", where terms like "flyover country" and "urban elites" were intended to exploit class insecurities and resentments towards urban "others" who were more often affluent, educated (and more liberal). Which of course is a rejection of the very value of education, achievement, or even that someone might be better at something than someone else. So anti-intellectualism, race /religion-baiting and open pandering to willful stupidity are only the logical conclusion to all that. And obviously it works!
