Another person who needs to study the Communist movement in the USA and the re-branding of it under the label of Democratic Socialism. Seriously, go back to Sociology 101.

DSOC continued to operate, in the old Socialist or Communist manner, as the left-wing of the New Deal coalition, clearly now not as a separate political party but as an explicitly socialist force within the Democratic Party and the labor movement. It met with some success in attracting young activists disenchanted with the Democratic Party's drift and seeking ways to galvanize the ailing party coalition. DSOC also drew to its banner a number of well-known public figures, such as Machinists' Union leader William Winpisinger, feminist Gloria Steinem, gay rights activist Harry Britt, actor Ed Asner, and California Congressman Ron Dellums, the first avowed socialist in Congress since World War Two.

[SIZE=-1]The New American Movement (NAM) emerged at about the same time, more from the new left than from the old, though it counted in its number some former Communists who had left their party after 1956. NAM, true to these new left origins, was more skeptical about the long-term future of the New Deal coalition, and accordingly devoted its energies more than did DSOC to the new movements of the 1960s, especially feminism, gay and lesbian liberation, and local community organizing.

Democratic Socialism rolls the Communists and the Socialists all into one organization.

Sanders speaks of helping the working class, elderly and disabled. No matter how much you people shriek & cry "COMMUNIST!! SOCIALIST!!" I can't see where helping these people is a BAD thing. Unless you are one of the top 1% of Americans, that is. The politics of Fear. *sigh*

Democratic Socialists of America

Democratic Socialism rolls the Communists and the Socialists all into one organization.

You said...and I quote...

"Sanders is a self-avowed Communist". Show me proof that this statement is true.

The radical right are no better than the Salem witch burners. Labeling people as your hypocrisy and spin macine driven shills dictate. Sanders has more patriotism for the country and more heart, soul and compassion for the average American in his pinky, than an entire Congress full of Republican dreck.

You may very well be in the 5% of the populace that holds 63% of U.S. wealth, because there is no other reason short of insanity or a zero I.Q. that would account for anyone disagreeing with Sanders' efforts to expose the greed and corruption that is killing the country. You most likely did not watch any of Sander's speeches or his filibuster and if you did, it fell on deaf ears.

FYI...

Quote:
The main difference between the ideologies is that Socialism allows for some free market economy and that each person is allotted resources according to how hard they work, and Communism seeks communal ownership of everything and that each person is allotted resources according to their need.

There are differing classifications of Socialism ranging from Social Democrats who believe that there should be a mixture of state and personal control of resources. This is the form of government in Canada. Some Socialists at the other extreme believe that all ownership should be nationalized. Still other Socialists believe that ownership of resources should be decentralized into workers collectives that own and manage all of the resources in one geographic area.
You have no idea as to what Bernie Sanders' philosophies are nor will you ever. Please...don't even attempt to or pretend to know. The right wing is not even fit to shine his shoes!

Default Brooklyn born Bernie keeps VT exclusive playground for the rich

From Bernies website:

"The Almanac of American Politics has called Sanders a "practical" and "successful legislator." He has focused on the shrinking middle class and widening income gap in America that is greater than at any time since the Great Depression. Other priorities include reversing global warming, universal health care, fair trade policies, supporting veterans and preserving family farms. He serves on five Senate committees: Budget; Veterans; Energy; Environment; and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions".

Bernie is a wackado who like a broken clock is right twice a day.

Bernie is going against both sides of the Human Caused global warming issue and is going to 'reverse gloabal warming'. Since Bernie hasn'r checked back in, the HCGW crowd admitted we can't reverse global warming. That alone places him in the odd encampment and spectacle that the former VT gov, howard Dean niow owns. What is in the VT water? Of course Bernie was born in Brooklyn NY.

Odd how Bernie wants to close the 'income gap' when VT has an unliveable tax that drains the residents and welcomes only the ultrarich ' flatland' farmers and their agricultural holdings and farm estates. The exclusivity of VT which Bernie maintains for the wealthy flatlanders is something to be admired.
