Lawrence O'Donnell tells in the strongest of terms how wrong the NYPD was in what they did to the peaceful protesters, you have to listen to what he says

I finally had to shut it down, I couldn't stand that female's voice another minute. I think the police have shown exceptional restraint.
I see no signs, no marches, all they are doing is taunting the police. The police are grabbing the trouble makers out of the crowd, surrounding the arrest, to protect eachother from the hoardes of angry protestors. What are they protesting, who the hell knows - police doing their duty, attempting to maintain order. What a complete waste of time for everybody concerned and costing the taxpayers of NY bigtime.
You are accomplishing nothing, getting your mugshot taken appears to be the goal.
Next time find a community organizer to organize your event, instead of some group up in Vancouver via the internet.

Leftists Target West Coast Banks and CEOs

The West Coast plans extend past the coming week, with more actions slated for the first week of October. The protest organizers seem to be taking a page out of the SEIU playbook, under the list of events on this Community page is a plug for two visits to the homes of banking execs.

In May 2010, a group of approximately 500 protesters from SEIU were bussed to the home of Bank of America executive Greg Baer. Baer was not home at the time, as he was out with his younger son who was playing on a softball team. Instead, Baer’s teenage son was home and frightened by the shouting outside. He resorted to locking himself in the bathroom until his father returned home. Baer had to fight his way through the crowd to reach his home and comfort his child.
Baer’s neighbor Nina Easton, a writer for Fortune magazine who witnessed the entire ordeal, said of the demonstration, “Intimidation was the whole point of this exercise, and it worked-even on the police. A trio of officers who belatedly answered our calls confessed a fear that arrests might ‘incite’ these trespassers.”

In addition to the scheduled plans to visit the homes of bank executives, the group has also threatened vandalism with its “Taking Trash to the Bank” day scheduled for October 5:

Taking Trash to the Bank-LA
Time: Wednesday, October 5 – 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Location: Downtown Los Angeles Central Library
630 W. 5thSt.
Los Angeles, California

The group explained the purpose of this mission: “The banks are foreclosing on our neighborhoods and leaving blighted houses with trash behind. We’ll be collected trash from one of these South LA houses and delivering it to the responsible bank.”

All of the group’s events can be found on the Make Banks Pay website. There, visitors can learn all about the daily plans to “make banks pay.” Other than that, however, little information is available about the group.
However, Dave Lagstein, the man behind the posts on the website, has a history of being a rabble-rouser. He was a former San Diego Chief Organizer for ACORN. In October 2009, he was caught on tape boasting that ACORN would be “whitewashed” by then Attorney General Jerry Brown. Lagstein said to a group of supporters who gathered to discuss the situation, “The fault WILL be found with the people that did the video-not ACORN.” As it turns out, Brown did not find fault with ACORN.

In coordination with these protests across the USA on September 24th, Anonymous and other cyber liberation groups will launch a series of cyber attacks against various targets including Wall Street, Corrupt Banking Institutions - and the NYC Police Department. We encourage the media to follow the Twitter feed @PLF2012 for ongoing reports throughout the day.
Communique From Anonymous - USA Day Of Vengence - Pastebin.com

They are deliberately baiting the police to react to their relentless jeering and harrassment, so they can accuse them of police brutality, suit for damages, and make millions. wait for it
Note the over-reaction to being pepper sprayed by the girls. It's not pleasant, but they played it up for all it's worth n more. The officers are human and can lose their cool if pushed enough.
I hear they are circulating that officers photo and address. That is frightening.

The fact that its Lawrence Odonnell and MSNBC leads to the very real question of the storys journalistic integrity. Odonnell panders to the extremist far left and his condemnation of police was aimed at his audience, a very small segment of the overall poulation. We saw that again with the Georgia execution. BTW, the video quality was so bad I at first thought it was an actual MSNBC news crew filming it. Did a few police go too far? Most likely. Did some protestors go too far? Again, most likely, definitely would be the better term. They wouldn't show any of those incidents and what Odonnell did show was probably cherry picked and heavily edited as is the MSNBC style.
Had this protest been staged in DC at the White House, I doubt very much they would have covered it like this.
But this was still a mild protest that did next to nothing to get a message out and was poorly thought out and weakly attended by mostly discontented bored financially secure kids. Did the media block it out or was there just not enough going on to make it warrant a lot of coverage? I think the latter.

Well, you can see how that's going to topple the existing order. Taunting via computer screen.

Incidentally, I might be rushing to judgment, but I seem to have missed the nationwide impact of what allegedly took place on September 24. As a matter of fact, it appears that nothing has changed at all.
