so sad.... our justice system is so misguided....
citizens and officials alike who supported this in georgia should be ashamed of themselves...
props to those who spoke out for this man who was essentially murdered by the state.

I wont get into the guilty/innocent argument.

I've really just grown to hate the death penalty. Not so much because I think it's immoral. Personally, I hate what comes out of it. I understand outrage for murder and there's no way of understanding the pain of losing those closest to you. But there's no excuse for acting like a damned mob over it. Celebrating death..... just like those "evil doers" in the Middle East.

You know I usually stay out of the P&OC forum for months at a time. But every so often when a topic piques my interest I pop in.

And I am quickly reminded why I stay away.

Agree. The death penalty needs to be swift.

Anyway news just in that he was finally executed. Buh bye-oh, Troy!

ur tone is very disheartening...
we're talking about someone's life..
circumstances could play out to put you or someone you love in the same position..
our justice system is not perfect.. and in most instances wrongs can be made right... but in this.. there's no going back..there's no whoops I'm sorry we made a mistake...
it's wrong on so many levels I'm sorry

But there have been people wrongly convicted. What about them?

Yes. Let's not deliberate and be sure the person we are about to KILL, the person we are about to OBLITERATE is actually guilty...

Let's just feed into our anger, fear and self righteousness and kill the guy that looks guilty.

Good idea!
